It's actually "Tomorrows Wishes" which she wrote for the Children's Hospital specifically. In her words, "... hoping they have many more tomorrows and many wishes...". A very beautiful piece and all the proceeds go to Children's Hospital.

I think the best part about this very talented girl is that she hasn't been pushed to great lengths (or at least from the videos I've seen) like many child pianists are these days..... Well done Emily!!!! I'm almost double your age and I admire you soo much!! :D I'm working on my first composition but it sucks lol XD

@PK292TSM Chances are she wrote that composition by herself just for that event, so you may want to rethink it as "wallpaper music". Can your 8-year-old write music like that?

There have been prodigies who came from poor families that were lucky enough to be discovered and were taught for free. Take Scott Joplin for example. Even the fact that she is a girl would have been a disadvantage had she been born just 100 years earlier. Mozart's sister for example was also very talented, but she wasn't pushed as much to succeed because not as much was expected of her because she was a girl. The point is, music is for anyone and everyone is equal; poor, affluent, male, female.

Lol, no I was being extremely tongue-in-cheek. The piano appears to be high-gloss black, reflecting the soft golden lighting they used. >;^) I guess if they wanted a piano to appear gold, they could cover it in gold leaf, but this one seems to be black.

Sorry. The post was merely to mock another post concentrating on oneself, instead of the genius in the original video.

@danekjovax Every time when stuff like this come up and people always ask short-sighted question like yours. I didn't question her talent, but I question whether the grown-ups around her know what's the best to do to cultivate, nurture her talents " IN THE LONG RUN"!!!!!! When Brahms was a kid he was begged by agents to tour and show off like Emily Bear is doing today. I am glad that his teacher/mentor knew better to let his rare gift be exploited and worn out.

@katjaoljuscha Apparently, your appreciation and understanding of music stops at perpetual C major/ new age elevator pipe-in. No need to try to understand the depth and art of the true masters over the course of human history. Keep yourself happy, I don't give a beep.
@PK292TSM14 жыл бұрын
She's a very talented young lady, and not to sound harsh to a little girl, but shouldn't her teachers expose her to more complicated/sophisticate/intelligent music than this new age/Cmajor wall paper stuff? Anyone who has any idea about the art of music will tell you stuff like this is really just froth. I think it's rather short-sighted of her parents/teachers to let her do this day in day out. It's beyond detrimental to her evolution as an artist.
