Emily Henderson's Happy & Eclectic Farmhouse Living Room Makeover: A Dramatic Before & After Remodel

Welcome to my living room reveal. But I’d like to officially rebrand the word “reveal” and instead use “my-current-iteration-that-I-love-but also-might-change-because-a-house-is-a-living-breathing-soulful-space-full-of-family-kids-and-dogs-and-might-never-be-truly-done.” It's pretty darn inviting, comfortable, and cozy. All our favorite players are here - blue, green, wood, a ton of vintage that I've collected over the years, and a heavy dose of texture and velvet. It is not exactly the "minimalist shaker" living room that I had espoused years ago, but things change folks :) Enjoy!

Just subscribed and would love to see more of this type of video. Some decorating video show someone moving a candlestick a 1/4" to the left like it is going to stay that way after the first time you dust. Great job! You have a fun, effervescent personality that really lifts the segment. Love your process, explanation and style. Personally, I'm not a fan of the Japanese plaid curtains- your favorite moment in the room but that's ok. It's all so subjective and I do appreciate seeing things I wouldn't necessarily chose myself. It broadens horizons and gets you to think and look at items differently. Would lo e to see a regular show with you. 👍

Emily: A series would be great you have talent and a great "for Real" personality for communicating. I am passionate for design and decorating and there is no place like home so I say go for it. I would like to see particularly some advice on the beginning of a project and how to get past the paralysis and self doubt that creeps in. I know this is a crazy idea but I would love to see a kit with the basic s in it. The floor, paint color, maybe bathroom tile and then I can just let go and do the styling (for which I must say, I excel at. you know the fun part). Your environment has true health and wellness benefits if done correctly. Thanks for the content.

Love it! I really enjoyed seeing the floor plan and the entire construction process. Makes for the ultimate before and after. I have always loved two sofas facing each other. I hope I have room to try that someday. Enjoy your new space! I would watch an episode about the kitchen for sure.

The couches are great and finally close enough to the coffee table for coffee table use! I would try it without the leather poof (less stuff would make the area feel less cluttered) and pull the chair closer to the coffee table, so the chair occupant can actually use the coffee table. Also, I would scootch the whole seating area closer to the fireplace to the the walk through area behind the chair was bigger.
