Thank you so much for this recording. Leanne Fortune has a lovely story-telling voice. I am enjoying this so much. I used to read this book so much that pages used to fall out.

Dear Ariannah. Thanks so much for the positive comments. I'm so glad you liked it. At least now you don't have to worry about pages falling out lol. Apologies for belated response but I have only just discovered it was uploaded to UTube

This has been delightful to listen to. The slight animation of Emily's voice was the best and seem to be just as she would have said it herself in that way. Thank you for volunteering your time to read for us LeAnn. Going to find the next book now.

Thank you so much for this upload! 💗 I grew up as a teenager with the German book series of Emily from 1996, and just like her I was an aspiring writer since I was a kid. 😄 Now I'm 37, one year older end of the month and a bilingual writer and reader. First time for me to enjoy this in English!

Thank you so much Leanne. This was an enchanting tale. I also felt different as I grew up. My love of nature and writing and feeling alone was so similar to Emily. I just want to say your voice was so beautiful and so soothing it brought tears to my eyes. Keep up the good work. Love from the USA. I also want to say one of the comments below was so cruel, their will always be someone who is out to hurt you, but never you mind them. You are special and that makes them envious.

I hope they have a talent show featuring a collection of Emily's poems, illustrated by Teddy's drawings and elocuted by the indomitable Elsa. In my mind they do; and win first place hands down!!

This story is full of mental and emotional abuse.😢 Sad to say it is a reflection of how some things were years ago. I am glad to live in a time when people are kinder to children.

Dear listener. Glad you liked it nonetheless. All versions should be same as we read from the Gutenburg text and all Librivox work is checked by dedicated proof listeners.

I love the narration but the volume or sound is too low.
@leannefortune-audiobooknar951911 ай бұрын
Hi there, Leanne Fortune, the narrator here :). I'm surprised you found the volume / sound too low, as Librivox are very strict about the volume (decibels) and it would never have been approved by the Librivox DPL (Dedicated Proof Listener) if the volume was too low. Could you perhaps try using a different device to listen to, where you are able to amplify the volume? Kind regards, Leanne

@@leannefortune9931 cool. what are some exclusive words and expressions from your region? God bless South Africa
@leannefortune99312 жыл бұрын
Hi Mark. Well, like other countries we have our own sayings and pronunciations. My father was British so to my mind my accent is English or leaning towards neutral. Of course the text is read exactly as it is in the book and each chapter is checked on Librivox by a dedicated proof listener. We, narraters and proof listeners alike, donate our time for free, simply for the joy of reading and giving to the community. I'm busy with a South African project which you may be interested in and it will have lots of South African words in it like 'koppie' (hill), or 'lekker', etc. An 'oke' is a bloke or a fellow or a chap. Take care Leanne

This reading is diabolical. Firstly, very nasal, and secondly in a sing-song voice as if it is being read to 3 year olds. What a disappointment. Librivox really needs to ensure readers have acceptable reading skills for the relevant audience. Absolutely irritating ... had to switch off after 2 minutes. Karen Savage is the *only* reader worth listening to.
