Really critical (in a good way) review! I appreciated your insights as it deepened my own reading experience! Thanks for this!!

I'm really excited to read this sequel, my copy has already arrived ( though I do think any book with the word "map" in the title should definitely include at least a couple maps)

I hope you love it; I do love the way the direction they’ve gone with the physical books as hardcovers without dust jackets. Maybe the physical copy will have some maps I missed in digital 🤞 (but, yes, I was expecting some interwoven with the plot a little more)

I loved the book, and I think you discussed it very well here. I love watching these after I have read the book (I like to go in pretty blind) thank you

I also like going in where I can form my own opinions. I’m glad this was of interest enough for you to swing over and that you loved the book! 🥰

Maybe its bc i listened to the audio book while reading but during the scene about the bedrooms, Wendell's tone is very "hm are you sure there's only three" but he doesn't out right say he's making another room

It definitely could have been an interpretation issue on my end.

The thing i like about Wendell, both as a character within the story and with the larger literatary world of fairy boyfriends is that for all his foppishness and... Blondness, Wendell is often just as dark as those others characters. He is selfish, he is vain, he is DEFINITELY vicious, and while Emily may have been bemused by Wendell being jealous about her ex, I would not ever want those two to meet fornthe ex's sake. But, since everything is from Emily's... Very particular POV, these traits are acknowledged but not brooded over.

It is a great character detail that subtlety emphasizes his strength. In line with the faery lore with a twinge of Oscar Wilde.

I love the build up to the 'fade to black' scene. Because Emily is... Emily, shes just, "I would like to sleep with you, Wendell. Right here and now. If you are amitable to this, please remove your clothes." And honestly ive had more than a few tinder dates that played out that way
