The fact that she repeatedly filmed him in secret and somehow *NEVER* managed to capture a single moment of him actually hitting her is very troubling.
@nancyt.7134

There are small moments I think are true, after all it was a toxic co-dependent relationship where they were both abusive... BUT... I agree with you... she says he hit her with his rings on, hard enough for a drop of blood to hit the wall. Excuse me? You have pictures of 'bruises' as your proof... but say he hit you repeatedly over the years, bruising you over the years... he asks for a divorce and you TRO his ass while he is out of country and claim abuse. Nice move.

Yes, and she needs help. People with personality disorders can get better. Seems Johnnie's therapist told him to doodle to cope under stress. It's an artist's way of using their emotions. He said something like he couldn't feel it at first but then it felt hot - that is shock and endorphins, you don't say "it didn't hurt" I can understand wanting to bang *after* you've finished withdrawals, many of us substitute that for drugs and alcohol. But while you're going through it?! Absolutely the fluck not.

@@JustPlainDebthat idea about actors being good liars is so funny to me. Actors prepare (sometimes for months) for a character, not only that but they have a script, directors who tell them how to portray the truth of the character better, rehersals, breaks, multiple takes, etc. Being on a stand, talking about your personal life while answering questions that you don't know specifically what they are going to be, is a very very different situation. As you can see here, even if you have months to prepare your testimony, if you are lying, if your story is false, it comes out that way.

And what about stealing the embryos that her and Elon created? She asked if she could use one, I THINK he took her to court about it as he didn't want to have any children with her after they split up. Somehow, she found a loophole (she probably threw a vodka bottle at the Laboratory Manager and threatened to cut his finger off if he did not hand it embryo over hahah) and had the embryo implanted in a surrogate therefore Elon would be 9 months months behind the pregnancy and be none the wiser about the stolen embryo! If Johnnys was going through withdrawal on the plane I don’t think he’d have the strength to kick her. Opiate withdrawal is painful and practically debilitating.

this also really surprised me. If it was any severe detox but ESPECIALLY opiate withdrawal he would not have been able to chase her around the house and throw her onto things like she's describing. Opiate withdrawal is one of the worst pains and most debilitating bodily illnesses you can experience, especially since a lot of addicts haven't felt pain of even normal severity in the years they were using so have 0 tolerance. Also, the concept that any doctor would be ok with him genuinely detoxing with only his new wife to supervise is.... untenable, no matter how much of a yes man she's claiming he was. People die from detox. Suggesting someone do it as part of a vacation with only non medical personel for long periods between "check ins" is begging for a malpractice suit. Honestly this testimony even made me rethink her characterization of the severity of his addiction not just his actions, which wasn't something I was questioning before.

Like she was just trying the whole time to record things that she could use to kind of look suspicious, and since none of the pictures are particularly shocking she just has a metric ton of pictures of him asleep sitting up, which older men do all the dang time, but she's trying to make it seem so sinister. I think she even lied about the drugs and drinking a bit. Yes, he clearly has substance abuse issues. That's a given. But she has exaggerrated his use in some ways and downplayed or omitted her role in exacerbating his issues at other times. At one point she says he took 8-10 pills because she "did the math" to figure that out. Her lawyer then asks whether he took that many or that's how many were left. Obviously, Amber had gone off script from what they discussed. In one of the many recorded arguments, Amber tries to drink fron JD's wine glass when she has her own. He tells her their relationship has gone past the time when they could share glasses. She freaks out of course. It sounds like he gives her his glass and takes hers. Someone pointed out that his speech starts to slur DURING the convo. She may have done the whole thing just to get him to take her glass into which she slipped something. She uses his under-the-influence behavior as an attack on his character, but how much of that behavior was because she plied him with or secretly laced his food/drink with additional substances?

She does not take responsibility for anything in this relationship. She is constantly trying to make herself out to be some kind of angel and; Johnny was a constant monster. It's really hard for me to believe that everyone is lying to one person. It is even more difficult for me to believe that she had time to take pictures of him sleeping and passing out, but she doesn't have any recordings of him berating her. It is difficult for me to believe that she doesn't have one of these witnesses that she speaks of to testify yet. Then she outlines these horrific stories abuse but no photos.
@fallen0angel
@fallen0angel 2 жыл бұрын
I think that sticks out to a lot of people--in the recordings, you hear her berate him and instigate a lot, but in her retelling, she's always the meek little mouse who's always tiptoeing around his unpredictable temper. What really stood out to me, was the video where she came into his slamming the cabinets, and she's asking him 'What happened? What happened? Babe, what happened?". It's not in a tone of someone asking their partner why their upset and trying to understand, so they can try to calm them down, like, 'hey babe, what's wrong? what's got you so upset? Is there anything I can do to help?'... her tone sounds more like she's goading him. All these witnesses, pictures, or recordings...and nothing of him hitting her, or hell, even swinging at her. Especially after the 'main' incident, no pictures of her feet all torn up, no video of him waving his self-inflected bloody finger at her, just a few pictures 'a few days later' (and then some more after a few more days) of some bruises, and some barely bruises on her face, in all of which she's wearing the same shirt. Which yeah, bruises change/develop over time, but... Her whole story just doesn't add up.

@@fallen0angel yeah and there is 1 recording after she filed the TRO where he's asking her to fix all this in a joint statement after she screwed him over but all she cares about is her credibility, her reputation-with no regard to his & not ONCE does she say its bec he did anthing wrong .. She literally says she hurt him due to fear of his reaction to things she did to him.. That pretty much solidified it for me... you dont say or do that if you love someone. Plus all the inconsistencies with her version of events, the fact her stories all paint him as the only aggressor and her the innocent angel we know shes nit from the audio, its not real and her story has holes where you can tell something is missing. Its not just she said/he said, it's her version VS literally everyone else's and the fact she has no proof. Not everyone that didn't see her bruises was a Depp employee, the police didn't even know who her husband was at that time and why on earth would the door man lie for him? I get its her testimony and some things are plausible but most just doesn't ring true, the more exaggerated the claims, the kore you have to back it up... i would think her lawyers would tell her to tone it down a bit. Honestly, I thought she would go with the mental abuse claims, @least she has audio of the name calling (from both sides) instead of doubling down on the Physical stuff that she has no real time proof they even existed. 🙄 As far as her notifying people of the injuries, I hope they have to describe the marks on her because although she did notify people, like Isaac and the make up artist, they both stated they saw nothing there. It's all very Gone Girl, I'm surprise she didn't write a fake journal. IDK, I suppose it depends on how the jury defines abuse but if they see all these seemingly huge exaggerationsthat everyone else sees, then they should take everything else she says with a grain of salt.

@@sandraaudette8949 Sticking to emotional abuse would have made such a stronger case against him. I too have no doubts that parts of her story are true--it looks like things got really nasty between them--but anything that has to do with him causing her any physical harm falls completely flat. I can look past the no-tears-'crying', and the lack of any tone change when her voice breaks, AND even the almost immediate composure when another question is asked, trauma effects everyone differently, but nothing in her stories adds up. Both to her own 'evidence', or anyone else's. If he was holding her hostage for three days, but within the first day he's 'blacked out', like apparently so often happened, why couldn't she leave then? And yes, while a lot of abuse victims won't seek medical attention, for a multitude of reasons, she had her own private nurse! She could have made up some 'we got drunk and kinky and maybe it got a little out of control' or something. Which absolutely sucks, because this type of shit isn't something you lie about, and not enough people are believed when it actually happens to them. People die at the hands of their partner because 'he was such a nice guy' or 'she was the perfect wife'. I also find it hard to believe that early on she told her mom about it, and she didn't do anything, like 'Oh no. We'll let's just hope he doesn't do anything like that again.' Granted, my daughter's only a year old, but I cannot imagine her telling me that her partner was smacking her around, and me not doing anything about it. I don't even care about 'celebrity' news, but this whole thing is infuriating, and it's great to see Johnny not only get to tell his story, but clear his name as well. Sidenote: I feel like I need to read/watch Gone Girl now because I keep seeing people point out the very strong similarities.

The most jarring part is when she tells the truth: JDs jealousy ('don't do sex scenes'/'why are you hanging around with James Franko' etc) and the destruction of property (JD destroying the phone & throwing her clothes down the stairs, but not hurting anyone). She speaks so much more fluidly/quickly about the jealousy & property destruction versus the physical/sexual abuse, which feels like a poorly acted performance (the dramatic pauses, the sorrowful looks towards the jury, the absence of tears). She’s either misguided or emotionally ignorant if she thinks coming off as angry and petulant about JD’s addiction issues reads like a victim. Generally victims of DV stay in abusive relationships out of an admixture of fear of and compassion for their abuser. For such a short relationship, this is the longest, most drawn out relationship ever. From this testimony, I think her frustrations about her career are because she didn't get roles because she isn't at all a good actress, and like the doctor stated, she blames everything on another. The fact her only large role gotten has been Aquaman, which Depp set up, shows that, both he helped her career and the only major role she's ever gotten was as a favor for him, not on her talent or merit.

if she was the victim, she would never chase him to fight more. She corners him and while he does lash out emotionally, which might not be right for sure but even the tamest of bunnies will lash out if pushed into a corner. It is a flight or fight syndrome. If he actually caused physical abuse to her, she would NEVER chase him to a room. In fact, quite the opposite. If she was truly the abusee she would have that "walking on egg shells" feeling and would not move much or say much at all if he got fired up, because she would be afraid anything she says or does would set him off. No this is a classic narcissistic abuser response.. chasing after him and fighting more, pushing the limits. You do not need a fancy degree to know that a typical abused person would NOT push the boundaries and chase the fight!

The only time I fought back was when my ex-husband, after beating me up, packed my son's things and told me he was taking him. I called the police in the bathroom while he was packing. The cops didn't come for what seemed forever when I said he was hitting me but when I started screaming into the phone two of them showed up and I walked out of the bathroom to hear them tell him to put the child down and turn around with his hands up. I grabbed my son and went back inside and they took my ex away. Definitely afraid, anxious, so many emotions going through me. But all I thought about at that time was my baby. *These comment sections are becoming like little therapy sessions, with people not only standing with Johnny but some sharing publicly the abuse they endured and a lot of people supporting one another. Beautiful.

It may have had elements of half truths but the story itself was created in her mind to win this case and her reputation back. When I started to talk about my experiences I came across with no emotion, I had to separate myself from the memories in order to vocalize my experiences. Others I know physically broke down, they didn't go from falling apart to fine to falling apart like this. The over dramatization mixed with SO MANY descriptions of her feelings and details and then say she can't remember in between, rings terribly untrue. Narcissists, sociopaths... CAN lie about things this swrious and create elaborate stories that never end, just to get sympathy or ruin someone. It's getting really old how people, like yourself, are constantly saying things like "When I would talk about my DV, I was very emotional consistently", or "barely able to talk", etc. Everyone is different. Every situation is different. You can't paint everyone with such a broad brush. Or expect them to say and do the same things others have. I was in a very abusive relationship/marriage for over 2 decades. When I finally filed for divorce, I was able to keep it together, even though I was nervous AF. My Attorney told me not to show emotion, and to only speak when asked a question. Some days I was all over the place. Some days not being able to remember certain things. Some days angry, sad, frustrated, afraid, you name it! Insert every emotion there is when you're re living such a nightmare for so long. 15 yrs have passed and it still affects me. Of course I'm in a much better place now than I was back then. I did question some things/actions during direct, but I don't know her personally. I'm not Amber Heard. Her story is different than mine, and probably yours. Different people, different backgrounds, different personalities, different situations, etc. It seems that she has tried to move on, yet Depp keeps dragging her back to court. That has to be frustrating as shite.

I mean even if they were his friends or employed by him I find it really hard to believe that if he was screaming, throwing stuff around, slapping and kicking AH, that everyone just sat silently in their seats ignoring everything going on right in front of them!! My sister broke my nose when I was 7. I remember vividly how much it hurt, how much it bled, and exactly how it happened. For reference, I am 36 and will be 37 the end of this year. 30 years later I can recall the pain. And the bruising lasted for over a month. I wasn't hit with a grown man's skull. I was hit with hard plastic, swung hard and into my face by my sister. (It was a hula hoop from the 90's and they were heavy hard plastic) So yeah, I don't believe she doesn't remember the pain.

She sounds like she's just venting to a therapist. Or recounting her life to a friend who'd be impressed (and appalled) with all the things she's saying. It also feels like a performance. Watching the replay, Emily: "like Aquaman?!" Literally took the words right out of my mouth. That ultra conservative, minimal makeup role in which she totally wasn't the love interest of Jason freakin Momoa. Between that and the full-on break down, sobbing so hard she could not speak... but shed not even one tear, I find myself hoping that some Virginia prosecutor is taking notes so she can be buried in perjury charges (which they probably won't bother doing, but they should) when this is over.

They 100% will not go after her for perjury. It isn’t even a 100% that she will loose and JD will win. Her testimony seems reversed and faked to me and many others see it. Which is horrendous considering SA and abuse is not something to lie about. You can clearly see when she is telling the truth and when she is not. I am a victim of SA and physical and mental abusive. But even years later like her, I wouldn’t get up on the stand and fake cry or real cry. She says she is so tough, but she is not acting tough on the stand by any means. I believe some of her story. Her stories another abuse are not consistent. They change timeline wise which is a major reason I don’t believe her story as a whole. I believe they mutually argued. I believe JD left to stop the constant berating and complaint from amber. I believe amber was obnoxious and that she acts insane with rage and jealousy but then tries to hit JD where it hurts; kids, age, previous roles and how he looks or who he is. I do not believe he hit her and I do not believe he SA’d her. She made a lie to hit him Back when he was finally done with her, and got in way too deep with her horrendous and horrific lie. She can’t back down now, so she rehearsed and worked on that ridiculous testimony.

I think she keeps narrating emotions (ie. "I know it's confusing, but," "I know it doesn't make sense, but," "It sounds silly, but," etc.) for a couple of reasons. 1. To appear more endearing and relatable to the jury 2. She wants to evoke agreement in the jury's mind. And 3. She wants to create an overall more believable narrative by covering her bases. She acknowledges gaps and things that don't exactly seem to make sense to try to appear more honest and forthcoming.

20:00 & 2:45:12 Yes - JD gave AH career advice. He was put in a box of being the “hot, teen heartthrob” early on in his career. IMO JD was giving advice on how to be successful- by taking a variety of roles - instead of always being cast as “the hot girl” with kissing and sex scenes. He wasn’t being controlling he was helping her succeed by learning from his mistakes. Also, when AH went on the red carpet in a very low cut gold dress with out leaving much to the imagination and including bright red lipstick JD said “yah, I see ya, kid. That’s how they’ll always see ya” (or something to that effect). If AH wanted to be viewed as more than just “the hot girl” she had to dress and act the part - that’s why JD was helping her with her wardrobe // reviewing scripts, etc. and she knows it.

The level of abuse she alleges simply isn't reflected in the evidence she provides. Heard took pictures of minor injuries, like when she had a cut on her lip she alleges Depp did. However, she has no pictures or medical reports of the horrific abuse she alleges. After these extreme acts of violence, that person would almost certainly require medical help.

I wonder if a lot of the problems in JD and AH's relationship come from her extreme disappointment in not being able to be the perfect caregiver/mother figure in that relationship. Instead of being a loving wife who controlled the perfect home and husband, instead of being the perfect caregiver who was able to nurse JD back to health from his various addictions, every grand scheme to be the heroine (and receive the praise of the many powerful, respected friends JD had) was thwarted by JD's repeated relapses and her own shoddy attempts to help (not shoddy because she was trying to be ineffective help, but shoddy because she was completely unwilling/unable to accept the correction needed in order to be effective help). Failing to produce the results she had expected from her relationship with JD, I wonder if she turned her attempts to build a perfect family (with herself in the starring role as the beloved, caring mother) to JD's kids, attempting to (as she is doing for the court) uphold herself and smear JD in order to remove him (the problematic piece that keeps ruining her perfect plans) from her perfect imagined scenario. But then JD removed the kids from her sphere of influence.

@@missy3429 I agree that she definitely has malevolent intent now! But I bet SHE thinks she is the heroine. I have an aunt with similar personality issues (and so have done a bit of reading about them) and one problem with this sort of combination of lack of empathy and severe insecurity (which coalesces into a rejection of and subsequent lack of a stable, internal, positive sense of who we are as a distinctly valuable human) is that everything starts to look like a reasonable justification to do whatever it takes to remain the heroine. To admit when we've done something seriously wrong takes a lot of internal fortitude that is lacking when one is suffering from such severe insecurity. To step out of the "spotlight" and let someone else have what might otherwise have been our share of the adulation of others takes internal fortitude. The sort of internal fortitude that is completely lacking in those suffering from these sorts of personality disorders. When someone cannot handle being wrong (or giving anyone else a chance to steal the "spotlight" by being correct) lying and abuse can become an internally justifiable means to control the narrative or (from the perspective of someone suffering from such a disorder) to put the narrative back on its proper ("normal") course. I'm not saying that people suffering from these disorders will necessarily turn to abuse, and I'm not trying to excuse it either. I'm just noticing how it could very well have been (from AH's perspective) a "the path to Hell is paved with good intentions" situation. I'd speculate that AH's thinking was probably already seriously warped by her personality disorder before she met JD, and such warped thinking could (I think) very easily result in the above scenario... And then the observed results.
