I don't know what the recommendations are in England, but here in Norway we're told to not give the baby any food with cows milk in it before age 10 months and not as a drink before 1 year, as it stops their bodies from absorbing enough iron. We're starting baby led weaning in a few weeks, starting with avocado slices. Leaving the skin on was a really neat trick! :)
@mrsemilynorris7 жыл бұрын
Cows milk in cooking is fine here in the uk - I do give Jackson a vitamin D and iron liquid supplement xx
@Artheila7 жыл бұрын
I don't think iron supplement is that common here, that's probably why :) We give vitamin D tho

I admit to subscribing mostly for Jackson. He's such a happy, sociable and expressive little boy even at five months. Your older sons are also so good with him, so well behaved. I really enjoyed your video of the Chester Zoo. Most zoos have child friendly paths, play areas. Great for adults too..

I know others have said it but defo try baby led weaning when he reaches 6 months, they don't appear to eat much at first, but as the months go on they start eating more and more.. we trust babies to feed as much as they want (especially breast feeding) so it's the same for food! I recommend the baby led weaning book for tips and advice.. and get a food mat for the floor so you can pick the food up from the floor without it being wasted 😊😊 so much easier than pureeing everything! And they don't have to learn to handle lumps with baby led!
@mrsemilynorris7 жыл бұрын
Thanks Jenny - he's definitely loving the baby-led route! xx

Hi Emily, thank you so much for this fun fact informative video, I for one am a new mom, and have really been struggle with the diet of my 6month old baby, in fact he has just turned 6months today. He is not a breast fed baby, his been on formula since 3months I found that its what works best for him and myself I know that its not the best choice but like I said I am a new mom and at least now I know that if we plan for baby number two that I strictly will breastfeed my future babies. So back to this video I have been trying solid on my son, purity to be exact, which I purchase from the stores, I don't think it works quite well with my son, but I will try buying all these lovey veggies and fruits and will just feed him the old and easy way. I figure its best this way. Thank you so very much I do learn a lot from you😘

I am weaning my daughter in January as she will be 4 months old.... I already feel like she's ready for food 🙈 she's a right greedy bum. Do you recommend Ella's kitchen or the Heinz pouches? Or is it always best to cook your own. I don't have a very big freezer and it's constantly full so I would have to make it as and when I need it - so are the Store brought ones any good? X

Hi Emily, great video, thank you! Your videos have helped me so much since having my first baby in October. Don't know what I would have done without them! I think I remember you talking about blackout blinds and sleeping in one of your videos. It's looking like me baby wakes up early from night sleep or naps because of light getting into the room - even just a weeny bit! I was wondering if you could make a video on your experience with this? It would be sooooo helpful!
