Dear Emily, when I was about 5 years old I hit my head onto the chimney corner and was left with a scar on my forehead. I am 25 now, I still have that scar. The funny thing is, that when I look myself in the mirror, I don't even notice it. Just an hour ago my 2 year old son fell on the ground and smashed his lower lip. He came to me bleeding and crying. It's horrible when such things happen, but everything passes away so quickly. The most important thing is that Jackson's safe. You will laugh at this in time. Happy holidays!

Thank you so much for being real! It’s so hard when one of your kids are ill/hurt, it’s like watching someone break your heart without being able to stop them. It also helps us remember that Christmas isn’t about one perfect day, but about a season of Love, Peace, Joy, Giving, and Selflessness. Which you have nailed! Thank you Emily! You’re doing an amazing job, and you’re inspiring us while you’re at it!

Due with my first in April 2020. Thanks for all of the advice and the videos of your lovely boys! It helps me to calm down a bit and think maybe I can do this. On another note, so sorry that little Jackson got hurt. I know this is like 2-3 years after the fact but I feel so bad, and you crying and everything, I’m so sorry it happened, and on Christmas Day. I remember the same thing happened to my little brother, basically face planted into the brick fireplace and had to get stitched on his eyebrow. He’s about 20-21 years old now, and is none the worse for his ordeal. I don’t think he even has a scar. Hope Jackson’s eye healed well and that life is awesome for you all. Thanks again for your videos, they help me so much! ❤️

Aw Emily your such a sweet and kind mother. You can truly see the love and care you have your boys. It’s so radiant. But I have 3 boys also, under the age of 6. Oh dear Emily, I just want to give you a hug. Seeing you crying made me cry too. I probably would have reacted the same way if it happened to my child. We've had a couple accidents in the past too and for example, my middle child broke a chip out of her front tooth and hit her head and I was bawling all the way to the A&E. Every time I look at her teeth I get this knot in my stomach and remember this incident, but she is absolutely fine, completely unawares, the dentist is not worried and it's just a baby tooth. I think it's just that us moms, we love our children so so much and hurt for them and feel guilty about not being able to protect them from every little thing. It's just that the reality is that we can keep them in a bubble their whole lives, even though they are clumsy and accidents will most definitely happen. I work in a children's hospital around the sickest children in my entire country, yet I am still sensitive about every little thing that happens to my child, no matter the crazy comparison I have with the absolute worst case scenarios I see on a regular basis. But my work experience has taught me that children are incredibly resiliant and can adjust to pretty much anything. My sister who got really sick as a child even got over her fear of white robes and now works in healthcare herself. Kids are much tougher than we think. I'm sure Jackson will be absolutely fine and so will you. Merry Christmas.

When I showed my mom the picture of Jackson she told me 'oh no, I would've cried so much!'. And this comes from the woman I've seen cry like 5 times in my life. I would've been a mess the whole day, I'm so happy you bounced back so fast. You are one strong woman. Merry Christmas ✨🎄

Aww I would cry too, but my little guys have cut themselves too and you can hardly see the scar. They're none the worse for the wear. Try opening up some vitamin E capsules and putting the oil on the cut as it heals. Really helps eliminate scarring!

Oh for pete's sake! Little boys always end up with battle scars. Matt Carriker the Veterinarian from "Vet Ranch"' 's little boy split his chin open a couple days ago, and now he's got something to show off to the other boys!!! That's what boy's do. My little brother fell out of the rafters of our horse barn and left a crease in his cheek! No problem, the girls still thought he was cute through high school and up to his getting married....see, no problem!

Aww, shared your tears, Emily. It's amazing how resilient little ones are. You're doing an amazing job with your sweet boys, it's such an inspiration for a first-time mom like me. Glad to see Jackson's smiles. Sending you lots of happy vibes and all the best wishes!

This happened to us! Toby was 13 months and I remember it like it was yesterday. He climbed onto a playroom chair and fell off when I was in the kitchen, hit his head on the train table. He had to have it glued too. It was in the exact spot your little ones is! Tiniest scar my love, honestly, you will badly ever see it!

Emily, so sorry about Jackson's fall. Isn't it amazing, how as Moms, we feel our babies pains more then they do. It will be fine. Looks like your boys really enjoyed their Christmas morning. Merry Christmas to you all.

Oh Emily, bless your heart! ❤️ Our little one fell a few days before Christmas. He had a tiny cut beneath his eye, and ended up with bruising for the big day. I wasn’t quite crying but I felt so awful and got distressed, so I know how you feel. It really is a big shock for you and like Jackson, my little one wasn’t phased 😂Lots of hugs and kisses are the order of the day. Happy holidays to you and the family ❤️❤️❤️❤️

You are always so happy and seeing you sad makes me feel SO UPSET!! You're such a lovely person. Also, I split my lip completely open when I was three - it was terrible. I had stitches through my lip and all the way down the side of my chin and I do not have a scar. So you never know how it will turn out!!

I cried with you! Us mommas tend to be more upset than our children when they get hurt. He will be beautiful with or without a scar. When I was little my grandmother’s dog bit my face on Christmas day! It was a wicked wound, but faded, and I can’t even see a scar on my face anymore. Sending lots of love your way!

Holy smokes, there is something about your crying face that sent me instantly to tears. Maybe it's that you are so normally smiling and happy. This vlog is really important in my opinion. I'm 5 months pregnant and I live away from close friends and family. Your videos are inspirational and give me the much needed confidence I will need soon. This very real and emotional event is all a part of what I imagine being a Mom is about. I appreciated seeing an example of the scary side of the whole glorious experience that is Motherhood. You are full of grace and your boys are some of the luckiest in the world to have you as a Mom.

Aww bless you Emily, I shed a tear with you too, really felt for you. I'm sure Jackson is fine, kids bounce back pretty quick, it's normally more traumatic for the parents. I'm glad you had a good day in the end with your family and hope Jackson doesn't scar. I would just keep moisturising the cut while it heals to help. Happy Christmas xx

Bless your heart❣️ I felt your pain when you were crying! I can relate to the overwhelming feeling of all the preparation of Christmas and packing for the trip and then to have the awful accident.. I’m so sorry! You are such a precious soul, this tiny scar will only add character to your sweet Jack’s face!! Merry Christmas to your beautiful little family from Louisiana 💕🎄🎅🏼🥂😘
