Really glad to see a tutorial of winter shadows - the snow will be here soon! I enjoy the shadows we get in our woods and would like to try to paint them.

Thank you, Emily! This is such a great example of that anything can be painted. I believe we overthink about our reference photo or topic, when something as simple as this scene with the half tree is just perfect. About the shadow and snow effects: just amazing!!!

Beautiful!! Would love to see more like this. Perhaps Christmas scenes with trees and snow. Perhaps red cardinals in the background? Easy and quick. Thanks! ☺️

What brush are you using for the snow shadows? It has an amazing point and I Struggle with keeping a really sharp point

That is one of my small diameter Silver Fox brushes. Fine points are one of my areas of specialty and the Silver Fox is about the best for performance and responsiveness.

Can you do multiple layers of paint when doing watercolor ? how many layers can you do?
@EmilyOlsonArt
@EmilyOlsonArt Жыл бұрын
You can layer as much as you want--but you must let the paint dry in between layers. Layering works best with completely transparent paint.

Can I work out of my paper block or do I have to remove each piece of paper before painting??
@EmilyOlsonArt
@EmilyOlsonArt Жыл бұрын
The point of the block is to work directly on it--the sides are glued down to prevent warping while you paint. Once you are finished, you can use a credit card or palette knife to remove the finished sheet.

STOP BUYING FUR PAINT BRUSHES! pls Google how to save animals that are used to make paint brushes, then click on the article that says "YOUR PAINT BRUSH COULD CONTAIN CRUELLY - OBTAINED ANIMAL FUR "read through the whole article and click on "I PLEDGE TO BE FUR FREE ",another article will then be shown. There are many alternatives to fur brushes that actually work BETTER!. THE FASTER WE STOP USING FUR BRUSHES, THE FASTER IT WILL BE A THING OF THE PAST! YOU WILL BE SAVING MILLIONS OF LIVES!
