Absolutely stunning, I'm starting to think there is no subject you can't paint spectacularly! I'm always surprised at how complete your work looks for just a couple hours of work :D

Breathed "wow" aloud at some point. The realism created with these shadow shapes and temperatures is something else. Thank you for sharing and narrating your process and choices, from someone who's learning more watercolor control. Artists like you doing that work really help me with training that "eye" for those elements.

EMILY OLSON ART Truly...it reminds me of James Guthrie’s masterpiece work. “To Pastures New”.... especially the little girl in the scene tending the geese, it is from 1883, he was only 23 when he did the oil painting. I’m sure you can tackle oils as well as watercolors...but from a fellow artist, watercolors are more difficult and more beautiful. Thanks Emily! We love watching your mastery of watercolor grow and grow!

Emily, I received an email from you today about painting beach scene. Which I had already seen this lovely painting with your beautiful daughter in it! And just in time! I’m going to Florida within the next couple of weeks! Can’t wait for a change of scenery even if I can’t get out and about there either. I can sit outside and paint! Or on the boat and paint! Anywhere besides here! I’m stir crazy and on top of everything I’ve been really sick. Tested neg for covid. So now who knows? This lesson did come just at the right time! Thank you for sharing! I’m going to get signed up as soon as I get back from our trip to your site! I keep saying that but honestly I’ve felt so bad I haven’t been up to doing much.

I’m always amazed at how much color you put down, like on her face, as I’m a bit fearful of doing that, thinking I have to do multiple layers. But it just somehow magically balances out before my eyes. Beautiful!
