Lmao for context these songs he used to make were a direct response to people complain about his lyrics. The louder people got the more he doubled down while exposing peoples hypocrisy. Imo the guy was fairly tame when he first dropped. Its only after all the protests and media blaming and nonsense of people protesting him that slim shady got turned up a few notches. And like most things the more parents tried to stop his music the more popular he got.

I know yall have learned more info since this video was posted, and I can understand (especially for the newer generations) how younger individuals hearing this are shocked and somewhat grossed out/turned off by some of his lyrics. BUUUUT, I did just want to clarify that Eminem is not prejudiced - his “alter ego” (slim shady) “says” things that are controversial. This is because he is highlighting hypocrisy, double standards, and the hate against certain types of people/ways of life/etc. It’s not because he actually believes or lives his life with that train of thought. For example - He gifted Elton John and his husband DIAMOND COCKRINGS for their wedding. They even preformed together at an award show (Elton filled in for Dido and he played the piano). What Eminem says is for shock value, in what I think, is an effort to wake people up and help shake them out of their narrow minded thinking/mentality. Anyway!
