Eminem grew on me. This era wasn't it at first. When "Without Me" and "Lose Yourself" dropped which DOES go hard in the gym.. 🔥 Dr. Dre founded NWA with Ice Cube and Eazy E. The movie Straight Out Of Compton (2015) shows how he came out. His solo album put Snoop on. He signed Eminem who later signed 50 Cent.

I'm a 66 year old white male and I love "Slim Shady". I enjoyed and still occasionally enjoy the creativity of many Rappers and Hip Hoppers with rhyming lrics, social statements, sampling from music in the past that combine entertaining music in more than one way. I think Eninem is talented and intelligent. I don't think your generation is dull or not creative. I think the sensitivey of these times stems from our past. Our beliefs, actions, conduct from the past has brought us to this point. If we want to uphold words from Pledge of Allegiance to our Flag that contain words of Liberty for "All" or our Constitution with words of "Establish Justice fo All", "Insure Domestic Tranquility", Provide for Common Defence" and "Promote General Welfare and Posterity for All" then it's condusive that this sensitivity phrase ( which might last some time ) happens if we ever want to accomplish what our Country supposedly stands for. It's an ongoing process to reach the point where these words are true for all. Me personally, I place my anger towards my ancestors who created this environment. I think your Generation is fine and making an effort to be better than my generation. P.S. "Smoothe"- Santana featuring Rob Thomas ( video ), it 's a gift. Not asking for you to react to the song and video . Seek it out for yourself to listen to. Almost forgot the most important comment. GREAT REACTION" !!!. Nice to see this music video by Eninem put a big smile on your face. " Slim Shady Please Stanud Up, Please Stand Up" ✌️

The LGBT thing, Eminem started with shock lyrics. His first albums he was saying gay slurs, talking about chopping up his ex and sleeping with popstars which is why Mariah Carey did that song "Obsessed". Lol. They tried to cancel him then! He matured a lot but occasionally teases Gen Z who thinks they are doing it for the first time. 😂

I am going to love these Eminem reactions. He is on my daily listens along with Tupac. His catalog is so huge. Be aware this man has different characters in his songs. Slim Shady songs tend to be more along the lines of this video but he can be dark and show us his place as a father as you seen from his last video. All of his videos are top notch. Dr Dre helped bring up people like Eminem and Snoop. He was originally part of N.W.A who themselves were very controversial at the time. People have been trying to cancel Eminem for decades but you know how that turned out

Dr.Dre is was pretty much there at the beginning of hip hop main stream. Associated with producing some of the biggest hip hop songs of all time. Associated with artists such as Snoop Dogg, NWA & Ice Cube, 2Pac, Eminem, 50 cent, and more. Also the co creator of Beats headphones he sold to Apple Inc. Next Eminem reaction: I vote "Cleanin’ out the Closet" ...(brace yourself) LOL or Dr Dre ft Eminem - Forgot about Dre (since you wanna know a little bit about Dre as well as this song officially introduced the world to Eminem) In addition: watch the movie "8 Mile" and you will see why his career went to even bigger heights

When this song came out (2000) it was massive, and there was no controversy. I was on a Senior class trip in Europe at the time and this music video was on MTV and VH1 constantly (along with Britney Spears "Hit Me Baby One More Time"). I went to seven different countries and at least a dozen hotels, whenever you turned on the TV this was playing. Eminem was huge even back then. I'd say much bigger than he is now.

I actually wasn't sold on Em when his Slim Shady LP (1999) came out. It took me a bit but when his follow up, Marshall Mathers LP was released in 2000 it blew me away. I really won't suggest too many Eminem songs as anything you react to will most likely be good but I will suggest Stimulate from 2002 or 2003 as it isn't a song commonly seen on reactions. I also think he got better over the years.

A Pretty package, color coordinated room include mic and headphone AND you catch the lyrics? Nice Reaction! 👍 To me, my favorite album is "the Eminem show" he carved his own lane and his early CD's lay bare his thoughts and experiences. So it's quite diverse from songs to his daughter, to wacky, to him standing up to the industry. "The way I am" and "Stan" are some early classics. In terms of him beefing, his beef with Benzino and Ja Rule are prolly the most well known. Em was so big their careers in hop-hop never really recovered. It starts with "the sauce" directed at Benzino who was part of the Source Magazine which at the time was how most people reviewed hip-hop albums, according to Em Benzino scored music from Em and his associates intentionally low.

Dr Dre is possibly the most important person in rap history. He was the first big producer in hip hop and started NWA which is like the original gangster rap group and they're legendary, he founded the likes of Eminem, Snoop Dogg, Kendrick Lamar etc. From him finding these rappers you could also say he is responsible for 50 Cent being founded etc. seen as Em founded 50 but he wouldn't have been able to if Dre didn't didn't find him. He was the marketer behind Beats as they put his name on them and he became the first billionaire rapper ever. He's one of the greatest if not the greatest hip hop producers ever as he produced for all the names I've mentioned as well as rapped a bit himself, although he didn't write his lyrics as he just wasn't a rapper. He also made both The Chronic and 2001 which are two of the best hip hop albums ever.

Regarding the LGBT thing, the lyric is: "But if we can hump dead animals and antelopes Then there's no reason why a man and another man can't elope" Em supports everyones right to do what they want. He says it in a backhanded way, comparing gay marriage being illegal at the time, to some of the other things that got a pass with no questions asked. Sure, he used slurs in his music, but it was never aimed at that community. It was a different time. A lot of people used those words at times, myself included, but never as a term of hate towards any LGBT. People were a lot less sensitive, and knew the difference between satire and hate speech.

At some point you could do a marathon of several Eminem videos, you will see a very sincere rapper in his lyrics with a depth in his messages such as stories about his life because of drugs, his wars with other rappers and how many wanted to censor him for his controversial rhymes and above all the infinite love for his daughter Hailey where he also showed his most sensitive side because he was not afraid to express through his songs what he felt. It will be a trip that you will enjoy guaranteed.

I was finishing my high school. Yes, it was fresh, but I don't remember people considering it as controversial. Back in a day, people were not as "woke" and fragile as today.

Slim Shady / Eminem dropped Houdini this year and it was just as savage as this track. I highly recommend you check it out, but you’ll need to watch Without Me first so that you can get a lot of the references. Enjoy!

Eminem released his first album 'Infinite' in 1996 and it failed to sell... After a failed attempt to take his own life, Eminem (real name Marshall Mathers) emerged w/ an 'evil' alter-ego that he named 'Slim Shady'... and he released the 'Slim Shady EP' in 1997 that was a much more lyrically abrasive indie record... In 1998, hip hop producer Dr. Dre (real name Andre Young) was given an Eminem tape by Interscope Records' Jimmy Iovine... Dr. Dre, who had a stellar career first w/ rap group N.W.A. and then a solo record 'The Chronic'... and success w/ the rap label Death Row Records, had left his business partner Suge Knight and Death Row Records around 1995 ... He launched a new label Aftermath and was looking for talent. He loved the Eminem tape and went to see him perform - he was shocked that Eminem was white! In any case, Dre and Eminem formed a good relationship and worked on his first international album 'The Slim Shady LP' in 1998... He introduced his murderous, foul-mouthed alter-ego Slim Shady w/ the first single 'My name is'... which became a hit on MTV. He became the first white rapper since Vanilla Ice in 1990 to find commercial success... 'The Slim Shady LP' sold 4x platinum by 1999. Dr. Dre and Eminem scored a major single in 1999 - "Forgot about Dre"... from Dr. Dre's album "Chronic 2001" in '99. Going into album #2 w/ Dr. Dre producing, 'The Marshall Mathers LP' in 2000 was a very dark record lyrically... Dre suggested that the album needed to start on a lighter note ... Eminem was not eager to record another quirky song like 'My name is'... but he reached a compromise - 'The Real Slim Shady' was a blitz on all the people that p+++ed off his Slim Shady persona... (Slim Shady even killed his producer Dr. Dre 🤣) pop stars Britney Spears, Christina Aguilera and boy bands of that era... Will Smith for badmouthing Dr. Dre's 'gangsta rap' genre of music... and comedian Tom Green ("my bum is on your ship..." ) Making fun of Tommy Lee (drummer of Motley Crue) and then-wife actress Pamela Anderson after their divorce and assault charges on him... On the album, Slim Shady also killed his mom... his (then)wife Kim... and other notable characters. I remember people anticipating the 'Marshall Mathers LP' like it was the new Beatles record in 2000, especially after MTV aired 'The Real Slim Shady' music video (which also featured comedian actress Kathy Griffin and Eminem's D12 rap crew) ...It sold 1.78 Million copies on week 1 of release... a figure than shocked Eminem! It knocked Britney Spears' album 'Oops I did it again' ... from the #1 spot on the US charts. Her popularity (and Christina Aguilera's) never recovered after that Eminem record on which he singled her out 🤣 We will never see that happen again in the digital streaming age; that record has sold 11x platinum in the US. The other songs on the record were admittedly more serious - 'The way I am' ... 'Stan' (feat. Dido)... 'Drug ballad' ... 'Criminal'... etc. Despite his knocking the Grammy Awards... Eminem won Grammy's for "The Marshall Mathers LP" and although he was accused of being "homophobic" by critics, he proved them wrong by performing his track 'Stan'... live at the Grammy Awards w/ Elton John (who is gay) and defiantly flipped off the audience in conclusion. Eminem admitted that 'The Marshall Mathers LP' might have done all it could in terms of shock value and lyrical abrasiveness... so, he opted not to go that route on the next album 'The Eminem Show' in 2002, focusing more on quality tracks... That record sold even more at 12x platinum in the US.

Here's a little info drop that might surprise you. His real name is Marshall Mathers, so his initials are M.M. Or M&M. Or Eminem. Very clever. You're gonna love his other stuff, I can tell already. Oh and by the way, Dr. Dre is one of the biggest west coast rappers ever. He was part of the old school rap group NWA, then he went solo and released one of the biggest rap records ever, The Chronic. Dr. Dre discovered Eminem and signed him, despite him not being from the West Coast and though he was a white kid from a trailer park, but he knew talent when he heard it, and Eminem made him even richer than he was before.

Naw this was like his 3rd album I think so people were already aware of how wild Eminem was. His first song “my name is” was the song that shocked everyone. You should react to that video. 😉 around this time he was tryna remind people he was still that same person. He had one more ok album after this than his run was over cuz the album after that was bs another song to react to is dr dre ft Eminem “guilty conscience” that was huge back then and kinda gave Eminem his 2nd introduction after “my name is” both videos were dope too

Have you not heard Em's lastest record? You can't cancel him, they have tried his entire career. Dr. Dre has produced some of the biggest hip hop artist's out there. NWA (Easy-E, Ice Cube, Dr. Dre MC Ren and others) Tupac, Snoop Dogg, Eminem, 50 Cent, The Game, even Kendrick Lamar was signed to Aftermath Records for most his career. As for Emimem being a homophobe, his insults to gay's are mostly jokes and he redid "Stan" with Elton John live and him and Eminem are great friends, he even gave Elton John and his Husband a matching set of diamond Co*k rings as a wedding gift. BTW you need to react to "Rap God"
