This was the time in hip hop that Nas dropped Illmatic and everyone on the east coast was striving to match his genius and originality. Eminem even said at that time Nas was his inspiration as an MC. The way he destroyed this style of Hip Hop then in 3 years pivoted and became Slim Shady! Who can totally re-invent themselves like that and be one of the greatest in both lanes?! If someone didn't know this was Eminem, I bet 90% of rap fans wouldn't think this was him. He is the best their every was and is.
