I'll never forget in an interview when Eminem was talking about how he was tired of doing shows high on drugs and he was on the verge of a nervous breakdown and he said his assistant showed him this video of you playing "love the way you lie" and he said he turned the lights out in his studio and cried listening to you play. I was like holy shit I need to find who this Violin guy is and I searched you and have been a fan ever since.

Eric Stanley I have no clue what station it was on but it wasn't a tv interview it was on a radio station. I just remember that me and my ex were driving back to Seattle from LA and it was on a satellite radio station. I remember the interview well though because I had written your name down after he said it cuz I wanted to search you right when we got home. The Dj and him were chatting it up and he asked Eminem what he listens to when he wants to destress or relax and he said James Taylor and a couple of other bands and then he said something similar to this,don't quote me but he pretty much said "my assistant hipped me to some funky shit the other night and I found myself in one of those moods where I was hella emotional and this guy Eric Stanley was playing "love the way you lie on the violin and I kicked off the studio lights and cried." and thats when I said to my ex " give me a pen quick i need to remember that name eric stanley. Damn I wish I could find it for you , I figured you would have heard it already. Eminem doesn't give props or shoutouts too often that's why I thought it was a big deal and I been a fan of yours since then

AlEx_PlAyZ. it wasn't a video interview it was just a radio interview. I was listening to Satellite radio while on a road trip when I heard it and this was a long time ago.I couldn't even tell you what channel we were listening to or the DJ's name or anything. I didn't know the importance of it then so it was just another day in the car listening to the radio. I just remember telling my girlfriend to give me a pen so I can write down the name Eric Stanley I didn't even think to write down the radio station or anything cuz to me all I needed to know was who the violinist guy was and that's it. Trust me I kick myself daily now but who would have thought that 7 years later I would need to remember what station I was listening to that day. The worst part is that it's impossible for me to begin a search cuz I know nothing about where to begin. I have no clue what channel/ station we were listening to or who the person was that was asking eminem the questions. I've already tried the obvious and typed into google "eminem talks about violinist that played his song" and every other phrase similar and nothing comes up. urgghhhhh😡😡😡😡😡😡 it drives me bonkers

I will never be able to get over how well the music flows from your violin. I always use a school owned violin...and I've been popped in the face 3 times in the las two school yeast by an a string and e string and a g string....and a couple of years before I got hit in the chest by an a string.....school instruments suck. I still love playing though.

I don't know what it is, but there's something about a violin that can create feelings in you like no other instrument (or thing) can, whether playing it just hearing it. if played just right it can make your heart cry or dance or break, it can take you someplace else for a while.
