I believe 2001 was the last time these two were on a track together on "The Marshall Mathers LP" an all-time classic record. The song is "B!tch Please" with 'Em, Snoop, Dre, Xzibit & Nate Dogg on the hook. It's a classic you must check out, hopefully in reaction, but at the least on your own time! Snoop and Em haven't been on a song together since 2000, that's why Em says they should have collaborated earlier. Also, the "Ain't no smoke in here" in the intro is further confirmation that they have squashed the little beef they had in 2020/21.
@purpleelephantdebh2 жыл бұрын
Em paid respect to Snoop in lots of ways, even for the fact Em left the second verse to Snoop because Em usually goes last. Snoop paid respect to Em in lots of ways too. He used Em's fast flow and he started his verse with that amazing M and M alliteration scheme. it's a very cool song from old friends who kind of had a little falling out but got back together because of their love and concern for Dre. then we got this amazing track out of it. oh, and Calvin is Snoop's real name. very nice reaction.

"y’all are seekin’ the smoke I got all the weed I am a walking mf’ marijuana leaf" He's basically saying he wants all of "the smoke". (The Smoke is slang for challenge/ready to battle) so he's a walking leaf because he's got all of "the smoke", go to him if you want it lol. Love the reactions, was surprised by this one popping up! Cool to see you are picking up the doubles more and more. Fair warning when you get into the Kamikaze and music to be murdered by albums, they are packed full of doubles. You'll get there eventually. :)
@zoegartham3122 жыл бұрын
Also, maybe I'm reading too much into it (but then again, it's Em, so who knows?) but the way he said marijuana was exactly like how he said it in Drug Ballad 22 years ago. "Marijuana is everywhere, where was you brought up?" Is that a double? I have no idea. It's certainly possible with the way Eminem raps that it is. And of course, it is one I wouldn't expect Chris here to catch because he hasn't listened to Drug Ballad yet.

Yay!! So excited to wake up to your reaction! This video was huge and so important because they were having some beef recently, so this was their squashing the beef and coming back together. They are both little Dre-babies so it was so odd to have them beefing. Btw, Snoop (yes Calvin) doesn't usually *go off* like this. He's not known for rapping fast, he's usually very laid back with his rapping style. Which his voice and style is still very cool and smooth, but he brought his A-game since he was on the track with Eminem. Also one more little note, Em said he was a walking marijuana leaf because he had just said "if anyone wants smoke"

Snoop (Calvin Broadus) is more known for his laid back flow. This is one of the first times we all have heard him rap fast. The last time they were together was in a posee song called b***h please II with Dr. Dre, Xzibit, & Nate Dogg on the Marshall Mathers LP in 2000. They actually just squashed a beef they were brewing with Snoop Dogg making it known he could live without Eminem’s music on several radio interviews. So Eminem called him out on the track Zeus from Music to be Murdered by side B album. They are both Dr. Dre protégés.

When i look at the song as a whole, it feels like they are really just preaching for people to smoke it up instead of shooting it up. They are both shooting their verses like guns, and each representing the two sides to the east/west-coast conflict? The whole Calm breeze and shooting up the party are just meant figuratively for smoking weed, like firing up a joint. There are a lot of references and stuff to dig into besides the overall theme of course.

Calvin Cordozar Broadus Jr. is snoop's government name. Snoop is on "b**** please 2" a song from Eminem's 2000 MMLP album and there was the "up in smoke tour" right after with Eminem, Dr. Dre, Snoop, Ice Cube, Xzibit, Warren G, Nate Dogg, D12 and more.
