***** The accents. I'm not gonna lie, I didn't like it either at the start but I think the main issue is that it sounded so different. But I gave it a chance 'cause I did always like Stay Wide Awake. And then I really liked the album, and Relapse: Refill has epic songs on it also.

i really hate how em almost tries to forget about this album, lyrically this had to be ems 3rd best album, his flow and rhyme schemes were incredible. this album had the niecest beats as well. really wish eminem closely listens to this record again to remind him of that. he still can kill it lyrically but musically he hasn't released anything as well as relapse since its dropped. he lost his flow too. please take relapse 2 off the shelves and release it for the real hip hop head eminem fans, that would be a dream come true.

I wanna go to the timeline where Relapse 2 came out instead of Recovery. I like Recovery, but I much prefer his Relapse style. Post Recovery his flow took a hit and some of his wordplay became cornier. You can hear a difference between the Recovery style songs and the Relapse 2 songs (On Fire, Ridaz, and So Bad were supposed to be on Relapse 2).
@avsv666 Жыл бұрын

Why does this album get so much hate? I love the darker theme to it. Slim Shady without the comedic relief, it's brutally beautiful. The accents don't really bother me, they just signify that it's Slim Shady on that specific track and Eminem on the ones without accents. I love the psychotic, mentally detached, medication addicted, Shady 2.0. A lot better then Recovery and the MMLP 2 at least. Relapse was the best he did since the Eminem Show at least in my opinion. Love the modernized Horrorcore, kinda rare nowadays.
@beelzeboo7 жыл бұрын
Fanboy Philosopher That's what I'm saying though, I love the detached almost unfunny, borderline creepy, brutally uncaring Shady 2.0, don't get me wrong, the OG Slim Shady from 1997-2001 will always be my favorite Shady, but the kind he brings out on Relapse I think is underrated, Medicine Ball, Bagpipes from Baghdad, We Made You, and Must Be The Ganja are definitely corny ass songs where I could definitely see what you're talking about. But the rest of the album and even Refill (excluding Forever) is this perfect mixture of emotionally numb, unpredictable, blood thirsty, psychotic, medication addicted, warped sense of reality, style of Horrorcore. Calm but deadly, Emotions ripped out. Brutally hollow. I love it. It's a newer version of Shady we only got to see once, a style that's not a psychedelic mummy with slit wrists, or a furious hockey mask wearing, chainsaw wielding maniac. It's it's own thing. It's also the only one of his albums in his "modern" trilogy that is Horrorcore (shady xv doesnt count). I love the MMLP 2, I love it a lot, I would go as far to say that it's a modern Hip-Hop Classic, I don't think Relapse is a Modern Classic at all, but I do much prefer it's darker tones then what is on the MMLP 2. It's just a personal treasure of mine, it hits the right buttons for me. The Slim Shady LP is my favorite though, that's my all-timer. Grew up on that shit. As for Recovery, I can respect it, but I don't necessarily like it (this is also how I feel about Encore). Recovery was his definite 2nd "Peak" of his career. But it was waaaaay more pop-orientated and lightened up on for the new generation of rappers at that time. I like maybe 4 or 5 songs on it, but the rest of the album I can do without. IT IS however.... a wonderful and stark contrast to Relapse. Relapse is as dark as it gets and Recovery is as light as it gets, they are like ying and yang, one cannot exist without the other. They should sell them in a double album pack like Jay-Z does with the first 2 Blueprint albums. Sorry lol, long read.

Fanboy Philosopher I'd be honored, infact I'll subscribe and turn on notifications so I can watch the review. I review albums as well on my channel. Mine are incredibly long and in depth though. The problem with Recovery and MMLP2 is that those two albums have tons of other producers that are only there because they're the "hottest" producers out there and they gave those two albums a pop rap vibe that's just very lazy compared to Em's earlier albums. Everything from Infinite to Relapse, you'll notice how there's a nice reasonable number of producers and they're involved because they work well with Em. There's just not as much personality in his last two albums as many other producers tried to make it "radio friendly"
@notverynice3927 жыл бұрын
Relapse was a masterpiece in its own!! Eminem is the only rapper to ever rap about a multitude of different events,thoughts,topics,real life,& fantasy. ETC!!! He is right he will never truly get the respect he deserves. not cuz he's not worthy. But because a lot of people are not intelligent enough to appreciate or comprehend his intelligence, and what he brings to the table. Ti should thank god that em gave him a shout out .
