This was the Murder Inc beef not the benzino beef. The benzino beef started because benzino was the co-owner of the source magazine. Benzino wrote an article saying that Eminem was only famous because he was white and America is racist. Eminem blamed benzino having a problem with his race as the reason the source gave the Eminem show 4 mics instead of 5. Benzino then found an old tape where Eminem said the n-word and played it at a press conference. Eminem had already apologized for it and everyone was more impressed at how Eminem went from that bad to that good. The two beefs sort of blended together because peoples friends kept getting pulled into it. It was pretty silly overall but nail in the coffin was a pretty epic diss track.

benzino owned(or co owned, not sure) the source magazine. the source gave out "mics" rating albums but always downplayed ems shit. you will hear em referencing getting "2 mics on the source" through many songs. the invasion is best listened to as a whole(the invasion 1, 2 and 3)
