I like how that diss track was so bad he had to release a press statement which I think went through like 5 PR people's hands, it could not sound more fake if it wanted to:))

To be fair Melly Mel made it about color, but please go take care of you grandchildren and enjoy life. Making a comeback or rather trying to make a comeback this is not the best way. Wait you mean this rap was old WOW why now.

Now that it's been a while, I feel bad for Mel; listening to Kane's take and that interview at the end. Still, he should have just left Em alone. There was just no need to attack a man who holds the game and the art in such high regard; Mel seeing at it as his "baby" or not

God, that last clip would have made such a better response in rhyme form than the interview where his entire argument was "he's white". It would have been an amazing rhyme for him to share his passion about the art form and his heartbreak at seeing it shifted and changed through the filters of fame and prosperity. He could have had the fatherly voice pleading with his young child. It would have added so much more to his legacy if he'd been patient and really sat down to write from a philosophical stand point. You know what? I'd STILL love to hear him make that rap. Perhaps he already has and I missed it. But this past situation with Em was so blown up, it really could have been used to shed light on so many who might then be influenced yet again by one of rap's pioneers.

10 months after this video. Only thing Eminem said about him after that was acknowledging he's a legend, and all he said to that was that he was too.

Thank you for putting this video out. I am a complete fan of Melle Mel and i highly respect Eminem. It saddens me when childish idiots disrespect Melle Mel when they couldnt ever spit bars like Mel or Em yet write stupid comments. Never disrespect living legends. Melle Mel was first and first is Forever.

One controversial saying is Eminem only reached his heights because he's white. Now, what's controversial, is that it's partly true. Dre risked his career for Em. No one else in his circle believed he could be great because he's white. So being white had SOMETHING to do with it. But all in all, if he hadn't have met Dre, he would have had a harder time getting his music out there. And without Dre's mentorship, he wouldn't have been able to hone his craft as good. Basically it's just one human helping another human help you. No skin color.

Most of y’all didn’t even know who Melle Mel was. He is a freakin legend. It’s ashamed that people are so quick to have an opinion with out even knowing the history of the genre Melle Mel helped create. He is protected of the genre because he is the grandfather. Many of those legends are forgotten or dismissed. I appreciate the fact the Eminem gave him the respect he deserved at his induction speech. I wished Melli Mel didn’t go there but he did and had every right to voice his opinion but Ja Rule’s diss, talking about the man’s daughter and mother- that was vicious (not in a good way). Tupac’s killer was charged days ago, on the 50th anniversary of Hip Hop. That should give us all pause.

Give it up .Whites are now the Kings of hip-hop. When Drake gets done he will pass it to another White King. Our legends should bow down and kiss the feet of these white kings

Melle Mel’s diss song did not sound like he was being serious. It sounded like an unserious song, where he did not really try. It was like satire.

Mel is right about Jay but Eminem absolutely not. I’m not an Eminem fan mainly because of his toxic ass stans but I will never disrespect his talent and he’s no doubt a legend in rap. Mel is pioneer and a legend in rap too and I still respect him but I don’t like his attitude and ego towards other rappers after him. Many of them including Em are better than him lyrically. Also his diss track is one of worst dissed I’ve ever heard which shows he really hasn’t involved with the rapping he did in the 80’s. It literally sound like an 80’s tracks and the beat is awful. This beef is pathetic anyway. Hopefully Eminem doesn’t respond and focus on different stuff.
