For hip-hop song, Ilistened to was in 1977… rappers delight… I was the only white kid in my neighborhood who would listen to “funky music” it was called back then… I’ll be 53 in July. I still listen to hip-hop my favorites are of course Dr. Dre‘s Snoop Dogg 50 Cent Eminem not in any particular order but I also like Kurtis Blow, Bootsy Collins Clinton P funk Redman Wu-Tang Clan, De La Soul, Cypress Hill.

I saw that Warped tour in 1999. Hated Eminem. Thought he was a nu metal boy band version of Vanilla Ice. But live, he was ok. Way better. But initially I thought his show sucked. Because when Ice T came out, it was legit. And I yelled "Real HipHop!". At the side of the stage, Em was sitting there and I couldnt hear him, but he mouthed "F*** yeah!". And then Em sat there most of Ice Ts set. You could tell he was a fan and student. I started following him then. Needless to say, Em is a deserved legend now. And he always gives his flowers to his idols.

People forget Ice T signed Everlast years before he ended up with House of Pain, he knew talent. The song Syndication was pretty good but they didn't really have a direction for him beyond that because Everlast himself had really found his voice or established style yet.
