If you kept the shed skin that's not perfect, you could turn it into jewelry. You could cut little pieces and place them either under clear medallions that look like pendants or you could do lockets.

You are the only other person aside from myself that I've ever heard express sorrow for your pet rats or mice who pass away. I cried with lots of tears for over three days when my little palomino silky named Sunshine died. A bit too much, maybe, but there was nobody to understand that she was just as intelligent and interactive as a pet dog! Most of my friends expressed dislikeing mice and rats and own dogs. She was a month or so past two years old and was wonderfully interactive, playful, intelligent, and very talkative! Truly a great little companion! She sadly had numerous tumors that could not all be stopped or reduced. She was loved until the end and received constant care during her last days. Her wonderful companion Sparkles had passed away the previous month at around two years old from too many new and growing tumors as well. I was going to have to begin traveling a lot so i couldn't get her a companion. I believe she got nearly the love and attention from me that she may have wanted from her relatively long life's companion Sparkles, who was so very sweet and wonderful as well. I haven't reached a time again yet to be able to care for a new rat or mouse triptych or duo. Thank you for sharing your love and respect for these wonderful pets. Thank you!❤ 0:38

When it comes to housing standard and dwarf rats together, I have two 9.5 month old standard girls and four 7.5 month old dwarf girls that I introduced a little over a month ago now and they get along great. Granted the introduction process went as well as it possibly could have. I tried taking my time with them getting used to seeing and smelling each other. (It was about a month and a half between getting my dwarfs and introducing everybody) Especially since the dwarfs were going through a phase of having small fights with each other, I wanted to wait for that to pass before moving on. My standard girls are on the smaller side and are very patient and non confrontational. So by the end of the first day I was able to move them into a single critter nation with just the basics of food and water. Two weeks later they were placed in their double critter nation with all the bells and whistles. They rarely have very small scraps, but those are usually over a treat that someone hid earlier and when I call them over they stop. So in the opinion of someone who houses both standards and dwarfs.I think like most bondings it's very dependent on your rats personalities and because of the size difference it's best to proceed with caution☺️

Dang it, I can't remember what was the phrase which was used by my MS nurses when I went through my fatigue management course... those courses are really helpful, by the way, so you could maybe enquire about one of those if you feel like it may be good for you. 👍👍 You may also be able to sit in with an MS group if you have a local neuro rehab centre.

Sorry to hear about Meadow. I just lost my last pink eyed white rat. She was about 2 years old and was a lab breeder so not the best breeding. She was defiantly spoiled rotten. She also absolutely refused to stay on the lower portions of her enclosure despite my best efforts (she was very unstable on her legs) cheeky little thing. Her cage mates buried her in her favorite sleeping box I had a dwarf rat once who lived with 2 standards for a very short time. She had a cognitive heard defect and chronic respiratory issues due to that and Gecko was just too rough with her (Brownie the dwarf was also going to the vet every weekend). If you have a healthy dwarf, there should be little issue.

2 of my rats ate my bird when i was out of the house (they chewed through their cage & squeezed through the bars of my birds cage). It filled me with so much rage that i fed the rats to my ferrets. They got to feel the same fear and pain that my cockatiel felt, and that does make me feel a little better. I miss my cockatiel so much.
