I avoided KPop for YEARS. I hated it, never watching a single thing. Until I stumbled across a video of Blackpink's Du DDu Du DDu, and wanted to learn the dance. I found out who the members were and started listening to them and watching their content, along with other groups like IVE (who had freshly debuted at the time), Itzy, and Gidle. Then during June, I found a girls generation music video, I got a boy. I watched it countless of times then listened to most of their discography (including most of their music videos, content, solos, etc.). Now I started listening to SNSD, SHINee, Big Bang, 2Ne1, Wonder Girls, BTS, and more!

I got into BTS in 2019. I had purposely ignored them, their fanbase and the kpop genre in general due to the toxic fans and weird fanfics I'd come across. My older sister came into our room one day in april to show me their Boy With Luv performance at the BBMAs, saying that I had to see it. I have since fallen into the kpop black hole and have enjoyed it immensely! I'm glad I had their music to get me through 2019, which had been a really rough year for me and my family, and I can't wait to see what they do with their music next!

A huge example of something I was deterred from but ended up living was Genshin Impact. I originally resented it because my brother used it to make fun of my favorite game at the time, The Legend Of Zelda : Breath Of The Wild. I avoided it for like a year and majorly regret it because now have so many people to simp for and I find everything really enjoyable, and the worst part was that I had to miss out on the bartender event because of how behind I was with the game, but I’m glad I finally tried it out and got to enjoy the world I’ve explored so far!

I can’t speak for all schools in the US, but at the one I go to, for a while tank tops were banned for both genders (I think they just lifted that this year but idk, I don’t really have any anyway). But shoulders weren’t the biggest problem with the dress code, it was “the finger tip rule”. I think it technically applied/applies to both genders but it was heavily more targeting towards girls. I know of a lot of girls who would complain about how a teacher told them they needed “longer shorts” because they’re regular shorts were just a little shy of finger tip length. Idk of a single boy who dealt with the rule, and I definitely think some technically broke the finger tip rule, it’s just that teachers didn’t really care to enforce it on us. I’m notorious to friends and family for not really caring what I wear most of the time and being mismatching (I usually blame my color blindness but it’s really cause idc) so im sure sometimes I wore shorts that were too small and no one cared.
