So I googled it, and apparently the main difference between flu's and cold's is that the symptoms of a cold apear much more gradually, while fevers are more sudden. Theres also some differences in the severity of the different syntoms. Im not an expert though so take it with a grain of salt

I really feel for you. When I had Covid-19 I was so badly fatigued, when I went to school when I first has Covid I kept falling asleep in class and I was walking really slowly and dropped my lunch. Thankfully, just like your friend Connor, I had friends that looked out for me. I had another week where my throat was so sore that I could bearly talk above a whisper and was super tired.
