natchu96 technically shirou's magecraft is a seperate thing from gradation air. it's also exceptionally more powerful and difficult, with rin saying (in heavens feel) that without archer to teach him shirou would take 10 years to learn it and another 10 to master it. though since it's a form of magic I wonder if it can be taught to anyone else, and if it's even practical without unlimited blade works

He does it in an almost roundabout way, as I understand it. He's not directly creating from nothing like a normal mage would do. He's using the fact of his origin (sword) and his reality marble ability (to project the self onto the world). In other words, he doesn't have to unleash the entire ubw every time he uses his reality marble; he can just bring out one small piece of it, such as a sword (well, it'd have to be a sword). He actually kinda sucks at projection magic when it comes to other things that are not swords or sword-related, because he can't use his self-projecting ability as a shortcut. His only real magical talent besides the RM is his ability to analyze and understand the structures of things.

(goddammit, faker-ception) until the obvious discrepancies are pointed out. Instead, like Ƹ̵̡Ӝ̵̨Ʒ says (how on earth do you even type that thing O_O) it appears this is functionally an extension of his reality marble (and strangely Rho Ais as well despite being the very opposite thing), where his inner world consisting entirely of false swords replicated down to every detail and even their history. Within a reality marble, the normal laws of nature and magic tend to not entirely apply, resulting in the phenomenon of what is more or less a projection with an unnaturally eternal lifespan. Emiya, or at the very least Archer, seems to have learned to pull existing swords out of UBW like how Iskandar can send a soldier outside of his marble to communicate with the outside while they were fighting Caster's monster. For all intents and purposes the very core of Emiya's soul is so distorted (let's be honest, he sticks to that ideal so hard sometimes it seems he's a bit fucked up in the head. That degree of selflessness isn't even natural) that it created a pocket reality devoted to a version of a completely shit spell similarly distorted to be so powerful that it can bring down heroic spirits. And then I read Fate/Kaleid Liner Prisma Illya 3rei and my mind got blown further with regards to just how absurd Emiya can become. I don't even mind that slasher smile, that guy is badass. In an insane kind of way.

natchu96 Yeah in Fate/Kaleid Liner Prisma Illya 3rei in the Alternate universe they are in, Gaea is dying, so his magical abilites are even stronger without the World constantly trying to fight him. Rhos Aias can be projected as well as any combat-based armament (except for modern weaponry like say firearm, but I can imagine him producing kelvar armor), but they have three times the cost of normal swords).

Kojirou and Archer are two of my most favourite characters in the franchise, simply because they were normal human beings born with very little talent who achieved greatness through sheer grit! I once read a line, "A determined mind can counter a gift". Archer is the perfect embodiment of that.

Kojirou's case is a bit different though. He claims to have developed the technique through practice over years and years, but he never existed in the real word, so obviously he couldn't have. Rather, he has to be able to do that because it is a feat attributed to Sasaki Kojirou, a fictional person. Assassin is able to defy reality because of the nature of heroic spirits and legends, not because of his hard work and perserverance.

I like this more than the original, because of the distant sounding strings. And how quick the piano notes are. It gives me the feeling of Archer's true strength, and his tragic "heroism." Like somebody who continues to fight for the ideals he no longer believes in, because he's stuck as a Heroic Spirit, and a Counter Guardian, doing exactly what he never wanted to do-kill innocent people.

Zander Gamer En UWB (al menos en la película que es lo que yo he visto) lo que hay es, primero un ataque directo de Gilga a Shirou que bloquea Archer, y al final un ataque directo de Archer a Gilga, pero en esas peleas no se estaban peleando entre ellos sino que Archer peleaba con Shirou y Gilga con Shirou, así que para mi no cuentan del todo, además de que son ataques para rematar. Aparte de poderes y reglas varias de Fate Stay Night, yo sigo pensando que Archer mola demasiado, al menos tiene potencial para joder mucho al cabrón de Gilgamesh, que también mola muchísimo!

Gate of Babylon is Gilgamesh's only Noble Phantasm, allowing him to summon anything he has owned throughout history. Both EA and Enkidu are treasures he summons from the vault, so while they're technically separate Phantasms, they're still linked. Gilgamesh's treasures can all be used individually. The reason Gil doesn't fight at close range is that a) owning a weapon doesn't mean being amazing at its use always, and b) he's arrogant and doesn't think people are worth the time.

I just realized something. The real reason Tsunderin was able to summon Archer is not because of the jewel, but because Archer is also a Tsundere, ahaha. Remember the first ep of UBW? Archer was in Tsundere mode in the beginning. The male version of Tsundere anyway.

Keya Aghaei It may appear that way, but Archer had his work cut out for him. Remember that Archer was a normal mage before he became a heroic spirit. Berserker, however (his foe that he was forced to face alone, as opposed to in UBW where he was teamed up with Saber) is none other than freaking Hercules, son of Zeus (King of the Greek gods) and a mortal woman. Half god vs regular human, seriously, you can't blame him for getting defeated like that. To make matters worse, Hercules is the exact kind of hero that Archer is not good at dealing with, as Hercules mastered the art of fighting with weapons and with his body. Archer on the other hand is a mix of mage, swordsman, and archer, mastering none of the above. Archer would only be good at dealing with someone like Gilgamesh, which is why Gilgamesh hated him. Also, I would like to point out that even Saber (Queen Arthur) and Archer (Future emiya) together were not really a match for Hercules. Gilgamesh was the one who killed him and that is only because Berserker was more concerned about protecting his master. In the stay night route, Emiya Shirou of the present teamed up with Queen Arthur, sharing his power with her, creating replicas of her holy weapon, so it was like two people fused to deal with him. That was when Berserker was not fully healed only having 5 lives left, and with Rin supporting them with her magic.

First off, if you have the Fate/stay night visual novel, then you already have access to the image (use "print screen" while viewing said image). Other than that, do you want me to crop the top & bottom off to make it fit widescreen, or do you want me to just make the image 1440x1080 and leave bars on the sides? Alternatively do you want me to make it 1920x1440 and then you can crop it yourself? Or even crazier: make the image 1440x1080 but stretch the sides out to fill the widescreen area?

The thing is that the Gate barrage works really well only on certain opponents. Fate/Zero outright proved it's possible to make it through a barrage for a skilled enough fighter (though that fighter was the best of his era), and it's not nearly as powerful as Enuma Elish would be. Gil also, in the Fate route, explicitly pulls a Noble Phantasm that was the prototype for Caliburn out of his vault and destroys Shirou's attack with it. He only lost because UBW is the worst battlefield for him.

Erm, no. Explicitly stated in the first VN that Gil's treasures are actually MORE powerful than the Noble Phantasms they eventually became. The problem is that Gilgamesh doesn't know the contents of his entire vault at a glance- he's literally too rich to keep track of the vastness of his treasures. He's also a bit arrogant. Gate of Babylon's ranged attack is literally raining Noble Phantasms on someone though. There is a reason Gil is strongest Servant.
