top feilds are always like this, mario speed running, top 100 are within 2 seconds of each other. but someone is best by a slight touch, cough cough Emma.

By starting your commenting with “honestly…” you imply that sometimes you lie. Not a good start. Plus just because it’s a tight grouping isn’t some reason to give them a lame group clap/“they’re all so fantastic” comment. This happens all the time. Pollyanna type praise is empty.

Good thing Helen S. didn't secure the win else the winner would've been missed and unannounced to the viewer. She pulled a gutsy move with 200m out and really asked Coburn how badly does she want the win. Great race.

I'd like to have seen Elle P in there as well. ALL of these ladies push one another to impressive levels!

I doubt Coburn has even 2:00 speed. If she did she wouldn’t get left in the dust by the Africans in the last lap of a steeplechase.
@headlibrarian19964 жыл бұрын
tosh allan The exception doesn’t prove the rule, which is that Coburn doesn’t have the speed to reliably outkick the Africans.

There's no way she ran 1:52 for 800 meters, the current World Record for Women is 1:53.28

I suspect great potential in Aisha , which possibly needs a competent sports psychologist to bring out? Possibly also a couple of physical training tweaks? Few athletes, even at the very top, are properly nurtured and their full capabilities exposed.

Why do women run in their underwear but men wear running clothes?
@sanderslongdrive5 жыл бұрын
That's not strictly true of the men (but more on that later) and as for the women it's not the case that such wear is forced onto them as they have a choice of shorts styles, but rather that it's an integral part of most women's psyche that they like to show off their bodies and sport provides a perfect platform for them to that end. From infancy most of them are groomed (principally by their maters) in the vein that girls need to be pretty and feminine. In today's world many women interpret that as only meaning exposing their maximum flesh. I take the point that there is a strong argument which says that many athletes have pushed the line of acceptability too far, resulting in athletics etc. now attracting seedy photographers and likewise seedy 'fans.' And I can think of one case where such photographers harrassed a very young female pole vaulter to the point of distraction. Personally I'm more disturbed by the gay boy tight tunics worn by many non-African male competitors. It all began in the days of Linford Christie (and what the press referred to as his 'lunch box,' ) and in more recent times we have (simply by way of example) the Ingebrigtsens consistently presenting themselves as nancies. And dressing to achieve aerodynics only needed by racing cyclists. I rarely witness 5,000 metre runners moving that fast. (joke) If it's a problem then I personally see it as being endemic within both sexes.
