What a treat this is, thanks Josh! Emma always comes across as such an intelligent, insightful, sensitive person, it's a joy to listen to them, one of the people I'd really love to sit down and have a proper chat with, pick their brain, share experiences. Loved hearing them talk about The Talent too, I recently managed to watch it and it was great, it deserves all the recognition, I'm looking forward to them producing more things in the future. Also I loved Rhaenyra in s2 and for me the slight changes to that character as oppose to the books are good and Emma gives Rhaenyra an edge of sorts, a strong presence that's like effortlessly there along with the vulnerability of the position the character is in. I'm looking forward to s3 and fingers crossed for that sword. Actually, Emma would do great in a sort of complex, big brained, non conforming, badass action hero type role A bonus for me that the gender topic was addressed as I too am a non binary afab person who is masculine presenting and who dreamed of becoming a theatre actor, that's been a consistent passion and comfort for me ever since I was a child but I never even considered it was something I could do because of my presentation and relationship to gender and, in my country, Romania, it probably really wouldn't have been possible, it probably still wouldn't be possible today and this will remain one of the great pains of my life. Emma so far has been the closest I've ever seen to myself in this industry(maybe there's others but obvs I am not exposed to every single actor there is), especially on this level. What I wanted to say is representation matters immensely, particularly when it comes to people on the trans spectrum who also happen to present or wish to present in a way that is more opposite to what's expected of their assigned gender(in this case masculine as opposed to feminine or very mixed) and it's great when a positive context is created in which people like Emma can also open up about their experience with gender, the personal inner journey and the fears, hardships, etc that come from presenting that way in the world. At the end of the day if we don't try to make room for ourselves and ,as a consequence, for others like us in the community, pushing the boundaries rather than conforming and toning ourselves down or avoiding to talk about it, cis/het society won't advance on its own to make room for us as we are. I am so moved and happy that Emma could come out in the end and fully lean in to their non conforming presentation and gender identity and it was overall a positive experience even if there's always going to be transphobes in the audience and in the industry, that they have a lot of love, which they deserve for being very talented and a kind person.

Otto and Clubfoot are among the most skilled characters in the game, they don't have swords. So many people in both GOT and HOTD don't carry swords yet are the most important characters. GOT show characters with swords who clearly shouldn't have them like Joffrey who believes because he is king his opponents will stand still and let themselves be stabbed. Or Theon who does have training but was never particularly skilled. Adding to his shame an internal conflict. Because he didn't try to find ways to compensate for his lack of skill with a sword with a other useful skill that would have made him feel like he was truly contribution something no one else could. As a result never felt valued even though he was treated more like a son and was more accepted in the Stark family than Jon was. If she wanted to play a warrior then why did she accept this part? And if she wanted to play a warrior queen she could have waited and tried her luck with when they decide to make a show out of Aegons conquest. Viserys had the common training that was expected of a boy born into his position, but long before he got sick no one thought of him as a warrior. He was sickly and physically weak still managed to be the best part of the show, with the tradgedy of his character being he was a good king in terms of continuing the mostly peaceful reign of his predecessor. But by being a good man who feared rocking the boat, he was not able to instill enough fear of consequences that would happen if the infighting continued. Its to late or him to try when on the last dinner he seems to have realized what his fear has wrought. Desperately trying to fix it but it was too late for that. I don't get where this insecurity of her not having a sword comes from. Her character has a dragon, and an army willing to give down their lives to make sure she sits on the throne.
