Aegon character is a lot more complex than people realize, they think he is Joffrey, he isn't. Yes he is cocky and annoying like all young kings are, but he is more human and likable. Tom plays him perfectly. Aegon didn't want to be king, he was convinced and pressured, you can see his pain when blood and cheese happens, he also rides his dragon to battle, in the book he is a lot more active than Rhaenyra, getting himself in danger, Rhaenyra uses her children basically. The show is doing a good job adapting this tragic story, maybe rushing it a little bit.
