Top quality Emma! I am running out of superlatives to describe her work! Andre said 'Fantastisch' (Dutch) after Voila - trying to beat that! Resonant - crystal - some powerful, some gentle; always clear.

Emma went directly to Valkenburg from a family holiday in Domburg for this performance at the Holland Casino. In fact the holiday was sandwiched between two performances. Just a day or so before they went to Domburg Emma had the performance in Valkenburg town with Maastricht Star - you have probably seen where she stands in the middle of the choir, on a step, in a red dress (also worn in The Voice) and she sang Hallelujah with them.

I'll never tire of listening to Emma sing this hauntingly beautiful song. I don't think there is anyone who can express the emotional depth; the story within the song, better than Emma. That kind of talent cannot be taught. Merry Christmas! 🎄

@@ChrisDart4232 I had listened to Emma sing this since The Voice Kids and 4 or 5 versions since without knowing the English translation. It was a revelation when I translated it for The Voice Kids journey and that line struck me tremendously as it did you. ❤️

Yes, Emma's power is remarkable. Also her stage presence. Here Emma looks like a 13 year old, but also looks like she has been standing on stage doing this for 20 years.

Thanks Roger, never saw this video before , live hearing her sing this song. One that really intrigues me is when she sang 'Opportunity ' during the pandemic, so young then, so good!!

To my ears Emma's 'Opportunity' in Kerkrade football stadium was a masterpiece. I listen to it all the time on a playlist in the car. In my opinion, in many ways, as a reference by age-group for example, it was on par with 'Voila'. I have tried to find out if this was the 'Eureka moment' when everyone close to Emma sat up and took notice. Not just family, but people like Rob Mennen who played piano in these concerts and who has regularly worked with Emma since. There was some super young talent on show that day in the football stadium, but for me Emma was in a class of her own, way out in front. She made the show. Did you know that initially Emma wasn't going to perform in these concerts but she demanded to be allowed to. If Enzo and Sophie were doing them, then so was she!! Emma's performance of 'Opportunity' was a big step up from her performance of 'Morgan' (Tomorrow) that she sang just a month earlier at PL Theatres in Kekrade. If you compare Emma's performance of 'Opportunity' to the one in the Hollywood version of the 'Annie' musical, Emma's is materially better; the lows are lower and more controlled and Emma's highs are piercing and sustained. Emma's voice has way more substance. kzbin.info/www/bejne/f6CVXp5sqph_oMk I feel sure that anyone in the music profession with relevant knowledge and experience who might have heard Emma sing this would have been blown away by it. I also love the moment at the start where her father Vico has to adjust the microphone stand for Emma - did you notice that this wasn't a nervous little girl waiting to sing, she was totally relaxed despite the glitch. Magical.

Emma's parents thought they had a sick child - they do have a child with medical problems - I doubt they thought how well she would combat those problems! Humbling courage and persistence has paid off spectacularly!

@@ChrisDart4232 I’ve said before that if I was Emma’s parent, who I am sure have cried rivers over her health and her other life challenges, watching her sing on major TV shows or for huge arena audiences, I am sure I would break into a thousand pieces every time. I don’t know how they hold it together. But they must be bursting with pride - which we know from what Vico said after the Vrijthof performances which I’m sure you have seen (if not I can give to you).

Superb, as usual, Roger. I am systematically recommending your channel to Reactors who express the desire for English language subtitles of Emma’s performances, interviews, . . . .. Thank you so much for your painstaking efforts. If she does any more French language work (as well as Voilà) I will try to contact you to see if I can give you a hand ( I am dual nationality, bilingual French/English and worked for 40 years producing technical and business doc in the two languages).

Thank you for that offer it is very nice of you. I struggled recently with a version of Voila where Emma missed a verse out to shorten the song. It took me some time to figure out that it had been arranged differently. The French language sounds great when sung, especially by Emma. I hope one day she does something else in French. Thank you Roger! Emma singing, "Door de Wind" is one of my favorite. Emma has such a terrific presentation. This performance delivers Emma's well defined self-image and ability, and she puts it on stage with great focus and crystal clarity. Emma is so honest on and off stage, that's outstanding. ❤
