Loved your video! And I’m glad you showed your ‘cabled’ Moby sweater as I’ve been wanting to knit that and so you’ve inspired me. I started the Beatnik a while ago but never finished it but now I think the Moby might take the place of that one.

I'm incapcable of watching TV and knitting at the same time so kudos!
@midsummerknits Жыл бұрын
haha the way i can't tell if you actually don't watch TV while knitting or just wanted to put the secret word in your comment 😆 but i would recommend starting with really basic knits like pure stockinette stitch in the round! and i still definitely pay a little less attention to the TV show while knitting since i sometimes need to look down 😅

I just finished a Moby sweater for my husband and immediately cast one on for myself! I cant get enough of the cables!

ahhh as a fellow slow knitter, your finished Moby sweater makes me wanna cast on another cable knit sweater or a cardigan

I'm waiting on some yarn that I ordered a couple of weeks ago so I can cast on the cable packed folklore cardigan for my trip to see the Taylor's show in August in LA! Hope i can knit fast enough to get it done in time :)
@midsummerknits Жыл бұрын
oooh that's so exciting!! are you making the folklore color palette that the cardigan originally came in, or something different?
@berry4berry Жыл бұрын
@@midsummerknits Same colour palette as folklore! Couple changes to the lion brand pattern is that I'm knitting the front panels and back as one piece, mostly because I hate seaming pieces together and I made the cables mirrored on each side instead of all twisting the same direction because I am a fan of symmetry haha

Your eras tour Costume idea sounds very cool!! I am especially excited to about the sheer mohAir panel! The ticket sales for europe are starting at the Beginning of next week, and I'm already extremeLy stressed, wish me luck lol! And fingers crossed that you will be ablE to finish your costume in the remaining 13 days!

I'm swatching for Landon's cabled sweater now!! (But the yarn is quite a bit heavier than advertised....not sure if I should buy. more yarn or continue)
@midsummerknits Жыл бұрын
oh no, that's annoying 😭 hmm can you make a smaller size so it will still fit him?
@joannejaeger5303 Жыл бұрын
@@midsummerknits Unfortunately, it's more complicated than just making a smaller size. My stitch gauge is too big but my row gauge is spot on, and the sweater has a small armhole depth which I think would be too small for Landon if I made the smaller size. It's got raglan sleeves and I think it'll be difficult to make the armhole depth longer without changing the circumference of the sweater. So now I'm thinking about using a different pattern...
@midsummerknits Жыл бұрын
@@joannejaeger5303 darn, i'm sorry 😔 hopefully you can find a different pattern where you match gauge!

I also love Ivy! If I could design a knitting pattern based on the song, I would do a CABLEd sock in which the base colour would be grey and the cables would be ivy green….assuming colourwork cables are even possible 😅
@midsummerknits Жыл бұрын
oooh that sounds gorgeous 👀 i do think it would be possible but a little hard haha!!
