In this week’s Sunday Sitdown, Emma Thompson joins Willie Geist to discuss her new film “Good Luck to You, Leo Grande” where she plays a widowed, retired religion teacher who hires an escort looking for adventure. Thompson said, “You don’t need to say what a wonderful body. What you really need not to do is waste your time, your energy, your passion, your purpose in life thinking you’ve got to make it different.”

I just finished watching Good Luck To You, Leo Grande less than 5 minutes prior to watching this video. I’m a 62 year old single woman, and I loved the movie. Emma Thompson is the rare combination of the beauty who can play those characters, and who makes us believe she is that character. My gosh, I feel validated. I’ll watch it again.

Yes to body positivity! I used be very self conscious about “showing too much”, and I eat right and exercise. Then, I went to a clothing optional resort. I saw the largest people flaunt themselves proudly. My body image issues went out the window at that point. At 65 I am proud of my body and what it can do. I am no longer afraid to show myself.

If acting scouters were like Emma Thompson again we'd have great acting on the levels of the 80s and 90s. This doesn't mean every movie would be grand academy acclaimed work, but at least we wouldn't have the immaturity that pervades our culture and movies and TV today, even if the particular title was an average movie. Emma is one, who although not a scouter, won't shy from being un-PC and bashing a bad performance. Look I'm not saying the youth of our time don't have talent, but it's not the same as before. I love "Spiderman" movies and the Marvel movies, but they're just not the same. That level of discipline is not there anymore. Great names were disciplined.

Yep strange, I am 6'1" muscular, actor / stunt performer, started training martial arts at 12, weight lifting at 16, served in the Special Forces, in basic you have no choice it's communal showering. But other than basic training, I have never taken my shirt off in public. Why? I started school a year early, skipped a grade. I was always the smallest, skinniest kid, constantly body shamed in gym, picked on. Even for parts, if they ask if I am comfortable doing a swim suit, pool scene, shirtless scene, I say no thanks, give it to the next guy.
