I am very fond of Thom Hartmann. I used to listen to his Radio show back in the day. As a Brit Thom taught me so much about the USA and introduced me to the wonderful Bernie Sanders who did a Town Hall every Friday. I am particularly interested in Environmental issues too which is another reason why I like Thom. Thom Hartmann and Sam Seder are Good People. So unlike Cenk Uygur who continues to disappoint me on so many levels I enjoy your commentary a lot too. I have only recently “discovered” your channel

During the time I spent watching Cenk, he seemed to become more egoistic, self righteous and blustery. For a while,I thought his desk pounding as performative. Eventually, he seemed to become borderline blowhard, as Anna seemed to spend more time whining. I still like to see certain people who are/were part of TYT who I liked to follow, but I quit looking for TYT content at least a year ago.

Here's what is upsetting about Cenk giving PolyMarket naming rights to the studio. Cenk had to crowdfund through Indiegogo to build that studio. That money comes from his leftist viewers. So, should it not be considered a betrayal to his viewers that he decided to name the studio after PolyMarket.

Cenk goes too far out of the way to point out where the nuggets of truth in a right wing commentary by going into history and putting it into the context where it is kinda truthful…. But then he goes TOO into the weeds to the point it’s irrelevant, he goes out of the way to disregard the current context too to the original point of the argument and simply creating confusion and a HUGE platform of moments to say some extremist is actually right then turn THAT into political dramatization clickbait. And he’s so condescending in such a school yard bully way that it gets tired for people who crave actual intellectual content. Idk. I gave his Wolf PAC a couple of years of 40hr work weeks for free got strung along quite a bit by MM but ya know I still followed TYT. I like John and Ana a lot. But I’m really glad there’s more creators and options for us now. Funny that Cenk could see so clearly the corruption of $ in politics but not selling out to sponsors in lieu of building your workforce to be stronger and more loyal through equity and inclusion rather than union busting. 😢 Tis what it is I suppose.

The whole point of a union is for workers to band together to be able to leverage the power of their labor as one. That’s not “putting people out of work.” If you’re not down with striking you’re not pro union

In this case, the video narrator admits that the profit margins for TYT were very slim and unionization could have easily erased those margins, putting everyone out of work. In this specific case, if people want to continue working at TYT, unionization would be against their best interest. The alternative is to find another job, which employees are welcome to do. I saw it time and time again in my hometown. Unions were huge and did great things for local workers. But even unions had bad actors within the system and unionized several smaller factories out of business. In the end, the unemployed suffer while the corrupt union organizers collected union fees and just went on to their next grift.

That was just speculation on my part, I was making a larger point about why cenk wouldn’t have wanted them to unionize, but they did end up unionizing and the business hasn’t gone under. The lesson is that cenk overextended himself in the interest of capital, not that unionization hurt the workers.
