I turned 35 a week ago. Many aspects of my life are “not in order.” I’m single, do not own the place where I live, and I am dissatisfied in my career and income. However, I live in a beautiful place, and I have many wonderful relationships. I spend time in nature and breathe a lot of fresh air. On the weekends, I get out into the mountains or to islands. So there are highs and lows. This is how life is. A mix.

Not to disparage your life but the single most prevalent factor in happiness of people over the age of 45 is that they have children and/or grandchildren. It's an extremely important part of why humans and particularly women are happy when they enter their middle and elder years. This is something people have known for thousands of years and this is also why our culture is so tuned into having children and why you may be looked at oddly for not having them before you are literally unable to concieve. By the time you are 40 years old you have less than 5% chance to gettting pregnant on each cycle.

Don't get caught up in society's notion of what you SHOULD be. Life isn't fair, the woman in this video had a lucky opportunity as a child and since has never had the worry about finances and the strife financial hardship brings. Thus making everything else easier for her in life. Be content with what you have as it could be worse and enjoy life for the simple moments, you provide for yourself and your cat who as all pet owners know, is your family. Good enough in my eyes.

Bud, the only time you fail is when you give up. I am a guitarist of 19 years, you see. None of us ever start out as a Rockstar. What I'm trying to say is... the master has tried and failed many more times than his disciple has even tried. Failure is a blessing in disguise. I'll tell you an example... some of these songs I can play now, ten years ago I thought would be impossible. Now, I can do it. It's only impossible if you WANT it to be impossible. Rock on. \w/

Better advice is if you're not sure what to do, probably try the things that people have been chosing to do for hundreds of years. Build a home and a family. If you know for sure that's not for you you need to actively seek fulfillment elsewhere. Not a wait around and see type of situation.

@@wallyjackson9543False. Webguy is right. Women are running out of time biologically to be married and be blessed with healthy children. So even at 24, women feel their time is running out for the best case scenario for a family. Before 30, women have 85% chance of conceiving in a year, but at 30 that chance drops to 75%, then 66% and 44% at 35 and 40 years old, respectively. When a girl hits puberty, she had 500k eggs. At 37 years old, that drops down to 25k, and at 51 years old, menopause sets in. Not only the number but the quality of the eggs decline. Between 45 and 50 years old, most of her minimally remaining eggs are chromosomally abnormal.

As a man, you don't understand women's psychology. It is biologically hard-wired in them to care about what other people think. As men, we can survive independently. Women cannot, especially if they are pregnant or have young children. In the past, if a woman got kicked out of the tribe, she was as good as dead, so it is biologically ingrained in her to care a lot about what the tribe thinks of her.

Emma is right in what she says. I am a little younger than her and as someone who is in her 20s and in college I can say that many men and women, more than afraid of age, are afraid of feeling unfulfilled or that they do not meet certain standards. Especially nowadays when people compare themselves a lot with other people, it is important to understand that to feel fulfilled or happy there is not only one path and that you are you, and that it is not necessary to compare your life with that of others. We can always improve some aspect of our life and learn to appreciate each stage of our life.

That hilarious been stressed because your turning thirty, that's nothing! wait till you get to your sixties and your body starts to break down, then you have a legitimate reason to be stress, instead of getting stressed over some intrusive thoughts. Be yourself and enjoy your life one day at a time. Stop living in the future and ignore the fears that accompany them. like i said, enjoy your life you only have one. And don't get married till you meet the man of your dreams. Don't settle for you anyone either. Seek your creator instead of living for self than you feel fulfilled when you deny your fleshly desire and pour yourself into helping others it's the most fulfilling way of life there is. I say that because self is never satisfied it's always wanting more thinking if you have more of this or that you'll be happy no that's just a lie. When you put your creator first its only then can you discern what your called to be on this earth it will be that clear to you. Jesus loves Emma he loves you with an everlasting love.

There may be social pressures that people feel you must live up to, but mass consensus tends to have lots of strange illogical fun bits to it. What matters is your own contentment with where you're at in life. This can mean health, finances, career, relationships, goals, etc. If you're not happy, then take steps to remedy the discontent and keep moving forward. If it's only stressful because of an imaginary time limit, then fretting is wholly unnecessary. Some things, like the beauty of youth, will fade no matter what you do. It is difficult to lose it if you care about it, but it's better to develop and age with dignity and acceptance. You'll look a lot better adapting your style and demeanor in real time rather than attempting to cling to something long past. Everybody's path is different, and personally, as someone coming up on 30, I'm astounded that if I take good care of myself, I my life isn't even close to halfway over yet. There's still so much to see, and I feel more confident and wise in navigating life than I ever have before.

My wife had our daughter when she was 29. It was one of the hardest things on her body. Waiting any longer to have a kid and things may have turned out very badly. And honestly, as you get older…like, I’ve experienced being let go from work, being jobless, moving to new cities and across the country, death of friends and family - a lot of life’s ups and downs and I am so happy to have had the support of my wife through those experiences. The longer you live alone, the more you do alone, and that’s kinda sad. Wishing you all luck in finding someone to experience life with.

I've just turned 50 and I am at a point in my life where I do not care anymore what society thinks. Yes, I am still figuring out what my life from here on out will feel like and look like But for myself ❤

I'm 45. Still mentally feel the same as when I was 20, just with more info on the hard drive and less energy. I know the next time I blink I'll be 50. Gotta enjoy the youth you have.

I feel this way and I'm only 26. Married with 3 kids and renting a house. i feel like it's falling apart because everything I have tried to do to be successful has failed. The anxiety and stress is so real. I'm not getting any younger and neither are my kids.

💯. Which is why feminism imo is anti-reality and can only lead to suffering.

You're wasting your time asking women to live in reality. Its just not in their capacity

People make a fuss because if you haven't started creating a family by 30, then you will not be in your youth anymore. It's still doable but it's going to be more challenging. This isn't dress rehearsal, this is your life, live it or watch others live it, make your choice.

Exactly. I WISH more people had put the pressure on me to find a girl and have a family before 30. In many non-western cultures, they put the pressure on when the people are in their early 20s. It's literally just a fact of life, biology doesn't stop for ideology. And this girl is rich, she should have a stable home and family well before now.

I'm 25 and is already thinking about this stuff. Being alone has it's advantages, but it sucks when you just want someone to talk to. Someone who understands you. I hope one day i'll find someone like that.
