I just love your home, so simple yet elegant and cozy at the same time! I watch other influencers describe theirs and it's all brand names and designer this and designer that, and while there is absolutely nothing wrong with that at all, I much rather see Ikea 'hacks' that I can use in my own home if the result is so spectacular. Most of us I would guess are in the middle and cannot afford designer stuff, so this is great! Thank you for sharing!! 🥰

Congratulations on a job well done! You have created a home that is welcoming, modern but warm, elegant but not stuffy, and full of light. I really like your choice of tiles throughout the home, as wells as your classic colour scheme of creams, whites, pale wood juxtaposed with the anthracite/black metal. Your separate dining area with its seating area is a dream to entertain in and such a bonus with that already large kitchen that opens up onto that lovely patio. Being able to bring the outdoors in, both visually and physically with those folding glass doors is such a soul-good feature that will be enjoyed even on gloomy days. I also need to mention that your downstairs doors with their ridged design are a nice detail that elevates. May you enjoy making many wonderful memories in your new home. I think you have a talent for decorating and especially with being resourceful with your Ikea hacks. When you have your feet up on your sofa this winter, with your laptop open and you're peacefully looking out onto that patio, perhaps you might consider writing a book on this project that will be an inspiration to many who would like to do their own renovations but don't know where to start. Working title - The House that Emma built.

I must say..... I never love everything about a home reno BUT this i did..... the only thing I would do in my own home is add some subtle colored bedding in duck egg blue, peach, soft yellow , just to give a little color, but the neutrals throughout the house is amazingly beautiful, I LOVE IT

Amazing! Amazing! Everything is so incredible and functional. The one thing i would do differently ( like no one asked, lol), would be to convert the pool room into a garage, it would be like a detached one, for the car, tools, etc. it would be functional, cheaper, and perhaps a great selling point in the future 😊

I love seeing how far you've come.❤ Those alcove windows are called dormer windows. In fact, a bungalow that has been extended into the loft and has one long section is called a dormer bungalow (my parents extended theirs in this way - gives normal head height on that side, not to mention more usable floor space.

This was actually our original plan when we moved in (to turn to whole back area into a large dormer), but then we decided we loved living on the ground floor and so couldn't justify the cost of such a project. We may end up doing it in the long run if we were to look at selling and it would be beneficial though 👍

I know, I can hardly believe it has been 3 years either, time has gone so fast but we are so happy that we made the move as we absolutely love living in the countryside. It's great for the dogs with lots of open space for them to roam free and we live in a lovely little community that always has something happening ❤️
