@VeeLondon14492 жыл бұрын
@@hollyssimplelife1634 It is light, not heat/sunshine that generates electricity and too much sun/heat can actually hinder the electricity making process. High temperatures can actually reduce the efficiency of electricity production, so although the solar panel will absorb both light and heat, it is the really light that it wants.

Hi Emma. The pool is a big project and as envious as I am of having such an amazing indoor facility,I can appreciate the high cost of keeping one up and running. I really admire the amount of thought and hard work you put into each of your renovations and makeovers and also how you do the best job without breaking your budget. I hope you get some enjoyment from the pool and you’ll be able to see over the next couple of years whether it’s worth keeping it.💖🌸

In the UK having an indoor pool can often devalue a property and can make it more difficult to sell, for the reasons you give. With the current hike in electricity prices they will be VERY expensive to run!

I love that you've partnered with Little Greene. After watching the transformation of your last house, I was inspired to try their paint myself and now I can't imagine using anything else, it's just such wonderful quality and so easy to apply. I've just painted my new office in Loft White and Tea with Florence (and painted the horrid orangey pine furniture with Lamp Black). I'm a one-man army and I'm so proud of how wonderful it looks!

Hi Emma, we live in the Netherlands and we have an outdoor swimming pool! It is great for exercising😉 we don,t run the pump the whole time, only when the sun is shining because we get free electricity from our solar panels. We also use the sun to heat our pool. I don’t want to be the one to plant the seed 🌱…but I feel like Simon should sand all the wood 🪵 to remove all the yellow tones in the wood, paint it with a tinted green paint which would counteract the yellow undertones and leave you with a grey/washed wood!! This room with some updated lighting, plants, a lux towel warmer, some fans for summer - would just be such a treat to have.

great job - great effekt without changing too much. a pool is such an added bonus, especially if you - or the people who will buy the house from you, if it is not your forever home - grow old, it is actually such a good exercise possibility. therefore, even if you find out you dont use it - maybe you could consider mainly covering it with other flooring, so that it can be reactivated if at any point that becomes more opportune. love the renovation vlogs!

Such a lovely transformation Emma! It already looks so much better, brighter, and more inviting. Once the pool house is more aesthetically pleasing, you'll want to spend more time there and enjoy the space and the pool itself. I have a pool as well, an outdoor one, not heated, and we use it usually from mid/late May till like mid-September. The rest of the year the pool is empty and covered so that way we don't need to run the pump or maintain the pool itself if we're not using it. I also just prefer to fill the pool each year with new fresh water for the season. The pool can be quite costly but once you get the hang of it and you learn how to take care of it and maintain it yourself it is so much easier and more cost-efficient. Waiting for part 2 😊

Always love any of your makeovers. This one is no different. Just lovely, and clean as usual. Can’t wait for the complete finish. As for the keeping of the pool, definitely see (if you use it enough to justify that) and if you find that you do, may I suggest down the road, investing in a couple solar panels and converting the boiler to electric and then the cost would only be maintenance and I’m pretty sure as meticulous as Simon can be, he’d even have the care of pool cleaning (mixing of chemicals) down😂……. It’s a wonderful room, whether you end up keeping it, or turning it into a garden room or studio later. I could see either of those. ❤️

Sunpannels for the pool & rest of the house. Is that something you both looked at? I don't know the rools or the paperwork that goes in there in Brittan bc i'm not from there i'm from Belgium. Also do you get subsidies from gouverment etc..? Have a lovely day too everyone who reads this. And to all Brits & every other country that has her as her Majesteit 🇬🇧🥂 You can full up the cracks if you go for painting the floortiles. But aslong you not sure weither to keep the pool or not i would just: clean, refresh but not changing or replacing things But if you disside to not keep the pool then you can make a very cool & chill chilling space by keeping the wall & ceiling, breackout the windows & that intire thing. Blackwash the ceiling and joanna on the walls & ... however you both want it... lots of options there
