Haha Simon edited every day as we went along and I wrote my voiceover for each day as we went along so we knew exactly what had been done. The more detail included, the more helpful it is for other renovators 😊

Absolutely beautiful! So lucky to have found a competent trustworthy bathroom fitter, we’re currently redoing my daughters bathroom following a disastrous refit by a cowboy builder. I good to see there are still artisans out there. Love the colour scheme you have used throughout your home, we’re transitioning from stark white to a warmer tone and think Joanna from LG would be perfect.

We were very fortunate to have Cal as he’s a good friend of ours. However in our previous house we had the bathroom done a couple of years after we moved in and it was awful, nothing done properly, not that we knew this at the time because we were inexperienced with bathroom fit outs. It ended up costing a fortune in damage caused further down the line. Lessons learnt the hard way 😭

So elegant and timeless! My own taste couldn't be further from Emma's but there is even inspiration for a colourful person such as myself in these videos. What I most appreciate are the clean lines and the understanding of the structure of a space or of an outfit and that's sth I'm learning from Emma's videos. What a lovely zen like room this has become! The black vase shows up beautifully against the natural colours and textures within the tiles. Very inspirational and quite surprising to see the amount of mess that is created when clearing out a small space! Definitely not a job that can be rushed.

I love your renovation series, Emma. It shows every step, but in just the perfect amount of detail. A lot of other renovation videos show a half hour of just sanding or panting, what a yawn!

Love this! We're planning a full renovation of our master bedroom and ensuite and I'm so excited for it. We've literally got to strip back to brickwork, completely remove and rebuild the ensuite (incl. walls), rewire the lights (currently 12 down lighters in the bedroom 🤦) , demolish the interior of the integrated wardrobe (built by previous owner who was likely short because there's a good 3ft of empty space at the top) and replace probably with Ikea interiors if they fit (thanks for the idea) and potentially (if budget allows) replace the window which is over 3m wide and feels like we're on view to the entire street 😂. So just a small job. I'm re-watching your reno vids for tips and inspiration, I love the black hardware but our water is so hard (if you fill the kettle from the tap it is barely functional after 5 days of use due to lime scale) so I'm not sure we can go with that. Thank you for the content ❤

Oh that sounds like a great job! I love a full demolition 🙊🙌🏼 Have you considered getting a water filter installed to your mains water? We did this in our previous house as we lived in London which is notorious for hard water. It definitely made a big difference x

@@EmmaHill we looked into it but they seem to use salt to counteract the "hardness" and my husband didn't want it in our drinking water. I know you can plumb a tap that keeps it unfiltered but he wasn't keen. I need to do more research to see if there's another option because our eco water filter (purchased because the Brita cartridges are a horrendous use of plastic) uses mainly coconut shell carbon and works brilliantly.

I put a big box fan in a window, with the air blowing outward on high speed, to remove most of the dust during demolition. We demolished some old plaster walls and ceilings and this really worked to minimize the spread of dust into the rest of our house.

Emma, your style is impeccable! You have such an eye for interiors. As someone who is yet to be a home owner and has never renovated or decorated, please can I request that you include details of pricing? A rough range...as obviously labour costs will vary upon area but it would be nice to have a clue as to how much something like this would roughly cost. Thank you x

This is why we don’t include costing because labour will be different costs but also not everyone would have a wall chopped down, not everyone would need self levelling or would have as many tiles, need plumbing moved etc. So it’s really more accurate to get several quotes from tradespeople local to you and cost a job with the fittings for your space/project. We also had 2 bathrooms done at the same time so again wouldn’t be accurate to just one downstairs toilet project x

I strongly feel that you did the right thing by moving out a full wall to disguise the plumbing necessaries. I have an old cottage that had bizarre shaped, boxings-in everywhere, removing them made a huge improvement. Those boxes to enclose pipes, etc., look very amateurish, in my opinion.

Looks absolutely amazing Emma! My husband would kill me 😂, but one little suggestion ! I noticed that when we had pale grout on our bathroom floor, the grout lines at the front \ sides of the toilet got a little stained with male tinkle mishaps! It might just be my husband but occasionally it would happen! We ended up using a sealant on the grout to prevent staining.
