Hey Emma! If I remember correctly, your cats used to be on a raw diet. I’m curious if they are still eating any raw at all and if not, if there was any reason for switching them over to the diet they are on now? We also used to have our cats on raw and switched them to canned wet food with some dry food as well. Always curious to hear about different folks’ cat diets!
@EmmaLynneSampson9 ай бұрын
Hi!! My cats (and dog too) did used to be on a raw diet yes!! Honestly the primary reason I stopped feeding them raw had to do with cost. When I was still with my ex he used to contribute to the cost of the cat food and stuff, so then when we broke up it became a lot more expensive for me to feed them all on my own, not to mention now paying rent and stuff on my own so I switched to a more affordable diet!! In the future if my budget increases I might feed them raw again but right now this is what works best!! :)
@shadesentertainment81148 ай бұрын
As a vet tech feeding raw diet to a cat or dog I do want to put into yall minds when they are eating a raw diet they do groom themselves so… think about the bad bacteria that can live on their skin/fur or when they groom you lick your hand, face ect. salmonella. E.coli ect. At work we were gloves with pets that are on raw diet. Just be extra careful.

I would suggest when your cats get old they have their bowls on the ground and have higher bowls so they don’t have spine problems and joint problems, my cat stopped jumping to the counter to get food because it was too much for him as he is getting older and I put their bowls up on empty containers as I don’t have 50$ to drop on fancy glas a bowls but still just a suggestion!! I loved this video and look forward to what else you have in store

It takes me abt 2 hrs for the daily chores. Got to feed the skunks and african wildcats in the morning, do daily checkups on everyone. In the afternoon I need to water goats, feed dogs,domestic cats, then do misting/feeding for the reptiles and amphibians, feed the sugar gliders and spot clean the cages and check pouch health on my breeder females, scoop skunk and cat litter, feed guinea pigs and rabbits/spot clean again. Then prep food for the next day.

Great video! I'm so sorry to hear about Thumper. I have 4 reptiles and a rabbit; I am a full time student and work a job and find it occasionally difficult to manage just them! Maybe you mentioned it in the video and I missed it, but do you work or attend school? If so, how do you make the time to do all of this! I'm very impressed. Best :)
@EmmaLynneSampson8 ай бұрын
Thank you 🤍 I do work a full time job!! It can be a lot to manage sometimes but it’s all about how I manage my time. I’m lucky that I can work from home about half the time, so that helps to make things easier. On days that I work, I keep my animal care routine more simple by only doing the tasks that I need to do such as feeding and watering. Then on my days off I’ll use that time to get things like cleaning, organizing, etc done!! Sometimes if I’m really busy I also get help from my mom with things like walking my dog :)

Pepper has neurologic problems which cause her trouble with her balance and coordination. As she’s gotten older the problem has gotten worse, so I’ve found that she does better in a more simple setup. It has a heating pad as opposed to lights as bright lights seemed to make her problems worse.
@Geckowishes8 ай бұрын
@@EmmaLynneSampson I would recommend a DHP. Heat pads are not able to heat deep into their tissue and make it harder for them to digest. DHPs do not emit much light and will help your little one be more comfortable and be able to properly digest! I would strongly recommend switching!

In my opinion a 36x18x18 is a good size for an adult children’s python!! Of course you can go larger but this would be a good minimum. If you like children’s pythons, Stimsons pythons or spotted pythons are very similar!! African house snakes are another small snake you might like

I usually don’t bother with the gradual change because Alaska has a really tough stomach that doesn’t ever really get bothered by much and she’s used to eating all different types and flavours of food!!
