Came here to look for a place to sneak a breath.. turns out I gotta grow another lung.

He snuck in 2 extra breaths! 🤓 His sound resonates so wonderfully. 👏

There's 2 really good ones, 3rd bar after Q after first semiquaver and 9 after Q again after the first semiquaver

Leave it to Pahud to make his extra breaths as unnoticeable as possible…
@jeanhoover34062 жыл бұрын
I was really surprised he took those two extra breaths! But I guess in order to be heard over the orchestra, it’s necessary.
@minjaejameskim83408 жыл бұрын
his solo just resonated across the entire orchestra stage, and the solo from the scherzo is one of the hardest solos to do so...

Wow. I can't believe I saw Pahud perform 20yrs ago. My mom and grandmother always did say that time passes more quickly the older you get. 😊❤❤

How did it go?
@arinetic55384 жыл бұрын
@@alexanderwatson9845 it was at UBC in 2018 - funny enough they didnt even ask for the mendelssohn excerpt. I didn't get in then, but two years later after spending some time at a small college, I'm likely transferring out to University of Toronto :)

does pahud single tongue the entire passage?
@ardavanpourkeramati57486 жыл бұрын
No, if you listen very closely, you will hear him double tounging it.
@miriamwaddell32805 жыл бұрын
I thought that too. His double tonguing is so good that it sounds like single tonguing.

Flutist plays one of the hardest excerpts of all time. Takes decades of practice and mastery. Conductor does nothing but wave a stick and make a ssshhhh . I can't stand conductors. Getting all the credit for doing shit.
@callum.ewen44 жыл бұрын
Have some respect, that's Claudio Abbado, it's just as difficult to master conducting. Do you see a score for him to look at? No, that's because he's remembered this entire piece off by heart. Now sit down and shut it.
@ccflute4 жыл бұрын
organists are self conductors anyway so if you are a conductor it is probably natural you can't stand another conductor😂
