This is the best process I have seen so far. What is the peroxide for? I have not seen anyone use that before. Thanks for sharing your expertise.
@EmmasCottage3 жыл бұрын
Peroxide has two uses in this process. 1) it stops the bleach process, meaning if you have one spot that is finished but other parts that are still bleaching but you don’t want a hole in that one spot, you can spray peroxide on that one spot to make it stop or slow it down so the other parts can catch up. Keep in mind, less is more, if you use too much it can actually make your bleach bleed. 2) after you press the shirt, sometimes it can leave a “scorch” mark. Basically, it looks slightly brown and burnt. If you spray a little peroxide on that part and use the heat from your heat press to help it evaporate the scorch marks disappear.

@@EmmasCottage any certain brand or type we need to use, fabulous video I am a beginner this is amazing, cant wait to do a shirt , also do you know of any type of shorts that one can use to sublimate with
@EmmasCottage3 жыл бұрын
My favorite brand is Gilden 64000 in Heather. All the Heather colors are 65% polyester and 35% cotton. You typically want 50% or higher for the sublimation portion and you want 50% or less of cotton anytime you bleach. If your cotton count is too high that is when you’re going to see rips in your shirt from the bleach over bleaching it.
@EmmasCottage3 жыл бұрын
Also, I haven’t sublimated on shorts but I’m sure you can. You’ll just need to make sure they are at least 50% Polyester and a lighter color for it to work.

I typically always used Gilden 64000 in the Heather Colors. I believe the grey one you are referring to is actually Heather Navy, they turn out very grey once bleached. They higher the cotton the more chance of getting holes in your shirt.

Thank you so much for posting this! This is my first time to do these shirts and excited to get going. Are you using full strength bleach?
@EmmasCottage2 жыл бұрын
Yes I am! I do not dilute my bleach. Check out my other tutorials for beginners, you will find some very helpful information!

Absolutely fascinating, I must have a go at this. Can I ask if that is neat (undiluted) bleach and thick or thin, also what is the purpose of the peroxide please? I've been binge watching your videos and must say you have a great way of presenting them. Thank you.
@EmmasCottage3 жыл бұрын
I do not dilute my bleach. Peroxide slows down the bleaching process outside, and takes away scorch marks after pressing inside. Thank you for watching!

Do you wash or soak your t-shirts in soda ash before you bleach? Do you wash them in anything after to set the colors?
@EmmasCottage2 жыл бұрын
No I do not soak them before I bleach. I do wash them in a gentle detergent after. You can also soak them in a hydrogen peroxide bath to help stop the bleaching process.

What kind of shirt do you recommend for kids shirts?
@EmmasCottage2 жыл бұрын
Kids shirts are the hardest for me, I still have not found one particular brand that works better than another! I wish that Gilden made some!

I love all of your videos. Can I ask how long your epson eco tank 15000 printer has held up for sublimation?

I’ve had it for about two years I believe. No problems.

What's the peroxide for?? Never heard of that? And are these Cotton?
@EmmasCottage3 жыл бұрын
These shirts are 65% Polyester / 35% Cotton. You do not want to bleach 100% cotton, it will result in holes. The peroxide is to slow down / stop the bleaching process once your shirt gets to the result you want it at. It is not needed, but it helps with timing if you are bleaching multiple shirts at one time. You can also use peroxide while you are pressing sublimation onto a bleached shirt. If it scorches you can use peroxide to remove the decolorization. Check out my other video where I go into more detail about this. kzbin.info/www/bejne/iHK1mJiGnqpofM0

What did you use for the image and how do you get all the different colors onto one picture
@EmmasCottage2 жыл бұрын
I use a sublimation printer, it prints all colors except white. I find many of my images on Design Bundles and Etsy, and some I design myself. Hope this answers your question.

Also are u using the next level brand for the first shirt you bleached ? What size are you printing your images ? And last but not least…. What size is your heat press ? I know i’ve I asked a lot of questions. Any help is greatly appreciated. Thank u absolutely love your channel.♥️

Thank you so much for watching Olga! I work as quickly as possible when I bleach. I don't pay attention to if it is wet or dry I only pay attention to if it is the color I want it at. I believe all the shirts in this tutorial were Gilden 64000 in Heather colors. It depends on the size of shirt for the size of the image. Check out this webpage for suggestions on image sizes, www.rozzycrafts.com/blogs/rozzy-crafts-blog/correct-size. My press is 15x15. Hi there! I ❤ your videos. Thanks so much for sharing. You have helped me so much! Quick question I bleached and subbed a shirt however the customer wants less bleached area...😬 I haven't tried the acrylic splatter technique yet. Is it ok to do it now around the image to fill in the space even though ive already done everything else?? 😬🤞🤞
@EmmasCottage3 жыл бұрын
Yes, I add acrylic paint splatters after I bleach all the time. You’ll want it to dry fully then heat set it with a heat press, iron or throw it in a warm dryer. No need to wash it again before you send it to the customer, just be sure it’s set or when they wash it most of it will wash out.

My question is what is the label on your shirts? I am trying to determine how I want to organize my shirts. I want to keep the heather colors away from the regular ones obviously so I can just grab when I need to bleach.
@EmmasCottage2 жыл бұрын
I have them all organized by color then I label the size with tiny stickers.

Love it I have a question 😜 When I sprayed the peroxide after sub it lightened the black on my actual image? Do you know why that happened?

Hmm, I’m not sure. I have never had that happen to mine.
