One of my favorite details about this episode is that we now know that Stan can tell Gideon is a fake psychic because he always called him Stanford when he was actually Stanley. Also because his mom was a fake psychic too
@kinokind2939 ай бұрын
When Stanley is explaining to Stanford who Dipper and Mable are he refers to them as "Shermie's Grandkids", so the two Stans have at least one other brother, presumably the baby we see their mother holding in the 60s. But we still know nothing about Dipper and Mable's parents, who may not even have been born yet when Ford disappeared. So it's unclear what, if anything, they knew about the existence of a second "Gruncle Stan".

They also could have heard about Stanley's death (fake death) it's possible they thought that Stanley was Stanford like basically everyone else in the show.
@ryansandoval23822 ай бұрын
Nah they don’t have a other brother, the baby you are referring to is shermie, that’s why dipper and Mabel call them great uncle ford or gruncle stan, because it’s their grandmas brother which makes them their grandpa/uncle

If you go back to I think the first time-travel episode in season 1 (the one with Blendin and the tape measure, and where Mabel gets Waddles) there's a short scene where a young Stan opens the door of the Mystery Shack. It was assumed to be Stan but it's actually Ford. If you look closely you can tell!
@Sigmundlove9 ай бұрын
You can see Stan and Ford's mom holding a crying baby in the scene when Stan is kicked out. That is Mable and Dipper's grandmother.
@TheAngelofFate174 ай бұрын
The baby is most likely Shermie’s son or Shermie himself. Either way Stan and Ford’s brother Shermie grew up, had a son and then that son grew up to and then had Dipper and Mabel.

As a fellow ADHDer, yeah, school was horrible, especially doing homework and learning for tests. And I'm now wondering how many reactors have AD(H)D. Would make sense that s high percentage of reactors have it, at least of the interesting ones. We tend to be more obsessed/engrossed by interesting stuff and have stronger reactions and emotions to it, which makes the reaction videos more enjoyable. And tend to talk a lot 😅. I mean, who wants to watch reactors who seem kind of bored by the stuff they watch and talk very little?

I would like to point out some similarities between Stanford and the 19th Century amateur scientist Robert Chambers. I have never seen anyone point this out before, but when I happened to read about him, I immediately thought of Stanford. While largely forgotten today, Chambers wrote an early proposition about evolution, before Darwin. It was flawed but new-thinking, similar to how Stanford's genious is to think in new ways. As Chambers had no formal scientific training, he was not taken seriously by other scientists (just like how Stanford was hindered by not getting a good education). And most notably, Chambers was born with 6 fingers on each hand. Perhaps this mutation led him on to the tracks of evolution, similar to how Stanford was inspired to seek out abnormalities. Oh, and by the way, Chamber's profession was to be a journalist and a publisher, i.e. an author. Perhaps a coincindence, but I wanted to share this. And no, I cannot find anyhting about Chambers getting lost in a portal.
