Yes, going to the police only stands a chance of being effective of a victim goes within the first hour or so after the attack. But that's not human nature. It wouldn't do Lydia any good to consult the police now. She's made their job almost impossible.

Lydia's story is going to take MONTHS -- at least through the end of 2023 -- to play itself out. Lydia has destroyed all the evidence. She's showered. She's trying to act like nothing happened. Worse, she's got that idiotic Sam now singing Craig's praises. It's our (the audience's) punishment to watch Lydia suffer in silence for the next six months or so.
