It would be interesting to have a channel like that with different well known groups and artists. Dont get me wrong I love the rhythm sections playing but the appeal of tiny desk to me is hearing different artists and their group. Such as KNKX Radio and what they did by bringing arturo’s group and roy’s.

I really like his playing but am curious about the miking. You can feel a clear change in timbre when he moves closer and further away, or pointing slightly away from the mike - is it something to do with the mike itself, or does he just wave the horn around more than most players?

Majestic! Giveton Gelin - wow! Patrick Bartley - wow! and, what a rhythm section; this is so very much R Hargrove's spirit rekindled; reminds me when he was the Rhythmic, Islington, London, where, I saw and met him, and, exchanged thoughts; all of which, comes flooding back to me. He spoke so highly of Freddie Hubbard. I love the way you have arranged this, and, everything about this; you groove!

I feel a bit sorry for Giveton on this one. Great talent that he is and a very soulful player he’s next to IMHO the best Alto player on the planet right now and Patrick simply takes it to another level on his solo as he does on everything he’s done with Emmet. Hope one day to see him live, what a player.

This is the joyous selection by which I discovered Emmett Cohen and his outstanding weekly sessions, 'Live From Emmett's Place.' I must've passed this post by a couple of times, underestimating this unassuming-looking group of guys, then one day I said, "Alriiiight, let's see what they got." Was I surprised! And joyous is the right adjective for this performance - joy is the driving energy behind it and is written all over their happy faces throughout. From the lyrics, it turns out to be a hymn, and I've been a convert ever since!
