Seeing him tear up touched me so profoundly . Music can reach into your heart bringing to the surface those emotions that we sometime have forgotten or would like to forget. Music is my time machine . Russell you will be greatly missed but will always be remembered.

A beautiful tune by Kenny Burrell. Mr. Malone brought out deep emotions that needed to be released. Greatly expressed in his playing.

Way too soon. But he spoke most eloquently while he visited us here on earth. I mean, the beginning of his solo, the use of space, the motivic development, the lyricism, and a perfectly placed chord coming out of his lines. Lucky we were! Good travels, Mr. Malone.

I've never played an instrument but I've heard many jazz musicians say "you have to play from the heart". Never really understood what they meant. But when I saw this live I began to understand. Very touching.

Amazing musicians. Russell's playing is always devoid of licks and unnecessary notes...just the essential soulful elements. So much emotion is conveyed in this music. Every note counts...sparse, sublime and wonderful.

Wonderful playing all around. But that sensitive and subtle bass is particularly lovely

Wow... ZERO 'string music' on the chord changes. The tone on the guitar is clean, resonant and saturated: a Sadowsky Guitar - somewhat unusual to see and hear. This is a masterful performance by all the musicians but especially by Mr. Malone. I wish I had found your music sooner... "Yeah!"
