@@travis4578 Josh plays in a weird tuning, where the highest 5 strings are dissonant intervals, but the lower 4 strings are AEAE. Most of the riffs play like a normal drop A tuning, but then he has the E and A an octave lower for the really low chuggy parts.

Want to just throw something out there, because I feel like no one has acknowledged it. While this track has that "I don't give a fuck" attitude and lyrical content, Frankie has made drastic improvements lyrically on this album. That includes this song. Just much more refined; doesn't feel forced. Actually showing some legitimate writing prowess at times. I feel like he knew that the new lineup meant he needed to step his game up a bit, too. Which I also think he did from a vocal perspective.

Daniel Varney I'm glad you brought it up because honestly, I wouldn't have noticed it otherwise but you're super right. The fact that the vocals are actually keeping up with the new instrumentals and not feeling as cringey as past releases while still feeling Emmure is a credit for Frankie, as well as his improvement in lyricism. (I'm not even a tremendous fan of this band, but I think supporting improvement will help more of it happen.)

theBOSpaladin101 Actually not really! Emmure sounded like your average metalcore band in 2007-2008 where people claimed that they sounded similar to The Acacia Strain and their earlier work. It was around 2011 that they went for more of a Nu-Metal deathcore style basically building off their 2009 release which was on the fringe line of Nu-Deathcore and The Acacia Strain-core. And even though Attila came up with the fast rap pacing done in the verses of their songs, Emmure still stands as being the first band to basically replicate Fred Durst and Limp Bizkit and give the sound a more modern heavy twist.

havoren they've always had a Nu metal sound? He's been doing that talk rapping thing since The Complete Guide To Needlework. They were more technical, because of having that early Danza I influence, but they still had sort of a Nu metal sound. Especially in 2009, with Felony.

Yeah, but the rap talking style could be said about Parkway Drive as well but they're far from Nu Metal. Emmure had more of what Parkway Drive did and still does to a certain extent but more simplified. And Felony did end up going for more of a Nu Metal style, but still kept that simplistic metalcore sound that they had in The Respect Issue. Afterwards was when they finally decided to add a lot more of a Nu Metal twist in not just the vocals but in the instrumentation of the band's music as well.

However with that being said, this song doesn't sound like Attila to me. It sounds like Emmure, Attila's vocals (aside from Fronz's rapping a little bit) sound a lot different compared to Emmure.

sumerian having one mediocre deathcore band doesn't mean shit. as for nuclear blast, rings of saturn is now a pointless exercise in meedling (i fucking loved dingir, but lugal was a pile of pointless, poorly articulated shit), and aversions crown have gone to shit too, being yet another overhyped tech-deathcore outfit with no real passion behind what they do. thy art have showed some promise though with the new track being a big step up from the last couple of records, so there's that. apart from that, nuclear blast have a shit ton of better artists than the 3 you mentioned. but ultimately you're comparing a newish indie label with an already established indie label and one of the biggest indie metal labels on the planet
