i'm pretty sure Moritz is what's called "Eiskonfekt" i would try it without being chilled though. It has coconut-oil in it wich melts at ~20°C which makes it feel like it's cold as the heat energy is absorbed.
@Moondance9010 жыл бұрын
Everyone I know eats it at room temperature. I thought it was supposed to be eaten like this. It feels like it gets kinda cold in your mouth and it melts pretty fast. I think thats why it's called Eiskonfekt (Ice Comfit) I always thought it was funny that it felt cold when it wasn't at all. I don't like the taste though.

9:50 we used to get those here (around Boston) they were called " Ice cubes". They were smaller, wrapped in foil and sold for around a quarter each. If they're not kept at a cool temp they melt very fast. I believe they contain a lot of cocoa butter/oils. The interior of a Lindt truffle is very similar.

Horseradish is very good. I grew up with that because we used to put it on gefilte fish. It came in pink and white and I think the stronger one was white. I've also had cocktail sauce that had horseradish mixed in and it was delicious. Wasabi is actually made from a type of horseradish but not the type that we have here in the US. It's a Japanese horseradish and it is much stronger

Sonnenkernbrot would correctly named sonnenblumenkernbrot which translates to (who thought) sunflowerseedbread. a little information on mustard (for anyone whos interested): most "normal" mustard is colored bright yellow, the better and/or more pricey stuff range fom sandcolored to dark brown. the melty feeling comes from the coconut butter and thats why you need to cool it, it melts really fast. muh muhs = edible caramel cloud :D
@CharleneCTX6 жыл бұрын
You can get the Moritz in the US. They're called Ice Cubes here. I've loved them since I was a child in the 1970s. It's more difficult to find them now, though. You either have to go to a specialty candy store or order online. You eat them at room temperature and they feel cool because they melt very easily in your mouth.

So, I have to ask (because I deal with this ALL the time.) I live in Germany (2 years in February) and I find myself checking labels on things ALL the time to make sure things are safe to eat while pregnant. Do you do the same with the packages you get from other countries, to make sure everything is "American safe" as far as pregnancy goes? I see pregnant German women eating all sorts of things here that wouldn't really fly in the states, so it just makes ya wonder :) Leberwurst is lovely- have you ever had leberkase? (liver cheese, though it rarely contains liver...and doesn't contain cheese lol).

Actually most european countries, including germany, have much more strigent laws in regards to food. Gene manipulated food is totally forbidden for example.
@star4ally10 жыл бұрын
Oh, I agree that their rules on food are completely different- every American doctor that I have dealt with has said to be cautious about eating unpasteurized food- and I find that I have to be a little careful when buying things in the German grocery store, because not everything is pasteurized like it is in the states. I love that they have such strict rules about the food- you can usually be more sure about what you are getting in Germany, as opposed to the States. Just my experiences.

So thank you! And by the way, please don't be harsh on yourself! German is a hard language, but you realy do a good job in pronouncing the words. I am kinda impressed to be honest, there not many who actually are able to say those words like you, so be proud of yourself! x3 Well, I'm very curious about the next delicious things you're gonna test-taste!
