Rossana is like... THE QUEEN of hard candies in Italy. Everyone loves them, everyone that has lived his childhood in Italy remembers the bowl of Rossana candies their grandmother used to keep on the counter and you'd have to be sneaky to grab one without everyone noticing... and funny story, NO ONE knows what they're made of. Ask anyone in Italy, they'll tell you it's a mystery (or we're just too lazy to read the ingredients on the package... that too :P)

It's really strange see someone eat all the thing i normally see or eat everyday and taste them with all your surprise! From here i cannot be able to correct the pronunciation, but i can tell you that the smurfs are puffi (you read all the letters, the "i" at the end too); Lupo Alberto is a comic and a cartoon of a wolf in a farm with the other animals and they have a lot of hilarous advetures. You reminded me of my daddy! He talk about Sicilian thick pizza. He’d say it translated to old woman’s face due to the dimples applied prior to cooking. TY for the memories the dei vecchi reminded me. My grandmother used to say hard head to us in Italian but literally those words lol testa durra sorry if miss spelled! My husband was with an Italian crew in a foreign shipyard! He said it one day. The captain said “what a you say?” He told him hard head and the captain laughed and said well a it’s right but not a how we a say it ! He then told him a 6-7 word sentence for the two words ! Good memories

Just FYI, a Tronky is called liked that because "tronco" is the italian for the trunk of a tree. If you look at them they kinda look like a tree. So I guess in english they would be called Trunky or something ahah I also love Emmy's reaction to Rossana candies ahah They do have a bizzare taste. but you just grow to love it trust me.Also Pocket Coffee is the best thing ever.

"caramella" means candy actually, it doesn't mean there's caramel in it. And in Italy we usually just chew the candy, we don't really masticate it, that's why you didn't like it that much. Moreover, that candies you were eating are from "perugina", which is THE best candy and chocolates brand in italy (from Perugia, the city, famous for the chocolate and abroad for Meredith kercher murder). On the fonzies packet there wasn't any image because fonzies became a thing, like coca-cola or nutella. Everybody just know what fonzies are, there no need for the picture. biscotto literally means twice-baked, but it's the italian word for cookie, and they are very popular especially for brakfast with milk, tea or coffee. another thing, patatine means in general chips, but we use it usually as plural, because as singular (patatina) it means also something else (maybe you say "passami una patatina", give me a chip, but you don't say "mi piace la patatina", because it means "I like the p***y", unless you want say that) I guess you know that everything your friend provided you with are very popular and tasty things (something also expensive), but the real italian cuisine is completely different. viva l'Italia!! ;)

+Francis Puds, I know for a fact many in Canada would have hard time finding Italy on a map, let alone recognizing Perugia as an Italian city and NOBODY ever-ever heard about the Kercher case. Actually Ferrero use a lot of hazelnut in their sweets because It is based in piedmont, which is famous in fact for the hazelnuts! (P.s. forgive me if my grammar is awful)

I love caramelle Rossana, I grew up eating tons of them and it's true, grandmothers in Italy always carry lots of them and I did get my fair share each time I went visiting my two grannies. As for the "liquid" core, I remember the ad in Italy and the tagline was exactly "Dura fuori, morbida dentro" which translates roughly to "Hard on the outside, soft in the inside". Definitely the most famous "caramelle" in Italy

Caramelle Rossana are really famous in Italy: probably the most popular CARAMELLE (which doesn't mean CARAMEL, but is just the name we use for sweets. They aren't fruity, the liquid centre is a combination of secret ingredients that only PERUGINA knows. I love your reviews and can't wait to see you enjoying more italians treats!
