John Jensen What can anyone say about Emmylou? She's a veteran and consummate professional. And listen closely to Alison: it's like listening to the original harmony, except sung by a female. It's been so long since I have heard that song sung by professional singers. Emmylou is just a solid lead, and Alison can't be beaten for singing harmony. She had years of professional voice training and can sing any position: lead, harmony, second soprano, alto, but not base, not with that angelic voice. So much talent in such a tiny woman! She's an angel on loan from God to us.

This is just a different level of music. Both have harmonised fantastically and complimented each other’s voices. You can see the acknowledgment in both their eyes when they catch each other’s eyes. Absolutely flawless! I had hoped Alison would go for that tension-y higher note on the "you" in "whenever I want you" that Phil did in the studio version (and rarely if ever after that). I was at this show in Cleveland. The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame did a week long tribute to the Everly's with programs at the RRHOF and consummated with a show on Friday evening. It was in late October 2014, 9 months after Phil Everly died. Yes Waddy Wachtel and Albert Lee were among the wonderful musicians there. Other singers that night were: Vince Gill, Graham Nash, sisters Shelby Lynne, and Allison Moorer, Keb Mo, Ledesi, The Secret Sisters, Rodney Crowell. (There may be some I'm forgetting.) It was a magical wonderful evening with Don Everly coming on stage at the end to receive an award and sing some of Bye Bye Love. Phil's family were in attendance that evening as well.
