I still remember Emmylou at the Santa Clara County fairgrounds in the 70s. There was hardly anyone in the audience who was listening to her but I was mesmerized. I was too young to even drive, so when my friends came by to get me, they practically had to drag me away by the hair. I think it took me ten minutes walking backwards to leave the stadium. Never have I ever wanted to stay so badly to hear someone sing.

I have been a fan of Emmy Lou since I first listened to her in the 1970's. A long time ago. She is the ultimate in musical integrity. She was, in the 1970s an astonishingly beautiful lady. And yet, she never tried to use sex appeal to promote her music. Huge credit to her for this. And she still sells records today. This is a lesson to today's twerk artists---if they will listen. s

Well, I cannot argue with you on that subject. Would not even try. She has a timeless beauty. And, I would argue, a significant part of that beauty is the fact that she is, and always has remained a lady. ("Lady" used in the old fashioned sense when the word actually meant something.)

Agreed!!! That is one beautiful lady!! In my opinion, still has the same folksy, but elegant voice she had back in the 70's. Which has also graduated to that sweet red wine, aged to perfection...

I loved the artist in her before I was born. Oh, her soothing voice always brings me back to my favorite quiet place, my heart! You don't have to move to travel, one only needs to listen to her sing. She will take you places never seen before and bring you back only to leave again with every next song.

The first time I heard Emmylou was in 1975 on Bob Dylan’s Desire album. I was a kid, not really into any specific type of music... but one evening my mother had that album on and I heard the song “Oh Sister”... 43 years later and Emmylou embodies all that is beautiful, wonderful, talented and graceful in this world. She just keeps getting better and more soulful. Her work with animal rescue just adds the icing to the cake. Emmylou, may you and your music live forever...

A.P. who was that?
@Ravenscaller
@Ravenscaller 4 жыл бұрын
@@vikking9154 He was AP Carter of the Carter Family. AP was obsessed with collecting songs from the hills and hollers and you could say he didn't take care of homework. Sara Carter was his wife. The song says the rest. The Wildwood Flower was the first song my Mother taught me to play on the guitar. She was from town and also ended up in one of those long lonely hollars and hated every minute of it. However she never left my father and she didn't found a significant branch of country music but she did meet the Carters once. Unfortunately I never met Emmylou Harris not even once.

"From the tall pines of Carolina"...Emmylou never abandons Gram Parsons while the Country Music Association does. This line is a memory fragment of Gram's "Hickory Wind" and Emmylou's career was founded on the rich memories of her association with Gram Parsons. Here in this song Emmylou is praising the spirit and style of Mother Maybelle Carter and the country roots song, "How She Could Sing The Wildwood Flower." Some of us might never have made it if not for the enchanting voice and songs of Emmylou and her loyalty to Country Music...and the path created by her lost friend, Gram Parsons. I love the album, "All I Intended to Be" as its songs remind us of the spanse of time we all call "life." Ironically, Mother Maybell's loyalty to Chet Atkins saved his career in county music...yet, Chet later was in opposition to the career and music of Gram Parsons. Sad but true!!

সে ছিল তার চাঁদ এবং সকালের তারা....⭐⭐⭐🌙🌙🌙 Lyrics: How she could sing the Wildwood Flower The orphan girl he would love so long In the end, he knew she'd been his finest hour And all he has left of her is a song He first saw her Standing by a cabin door Her song was ringing Out in a voice so strong and sure To the lonesome valley He brings her there to be his bride Where they would live and work together Side by side She was his sunshine (তিনি তার সূর্যালোক ছিল) She was his moon and morning star(👉⭐⭐⭐🌙🌙🌙) His words would ring to The chords of her guitar He was driven And lost to her for days and days 'Til the lonesome valley Finally drove her far away We all cling to As the years keep rolling on One single promise Of a love that's past and gone And that lonesome valley We all walk it by ourselves With the wildwood flower Is a story we will tell How she could sing the Wildwood Flower And all we have left of her is a song
