I tried Pancake Soup years ago. Cook up crepes or thin pancakes, cut each crepe into thin strips and toss into beef broth for a couple of minutes. BAM! The crepes taste a bit like noodles from a can! Surprisingly good. Think it's a German hard-times recipe.

I grew up with scrambled pancakes! We remove them from the pan, melt a bit of cinnamon, butter and brown sugar in the pan, then add the pancake bits back until they caramelize and crunch a bit. Top it with banana slices or berries, and serve with a glass of milk. So good...and nostalgic.

Okay, resident cheese frier here, where you went wrong with the chickle was adding oil. There is plenty of oil in your cheese, and if your pan is nonstick you have no worries. Just let it fry almost as long as you had the whole "dish" going, and also pat dry your pickles. I usually just put shredded cheese in a pan and then drop a tortilla in it, but the options are limited only by your budget, your imagination and how adventurous your pallet is. Happy Cheese crisping!
@alixaugustine9599
@alixaugustine9599 19 күн бұрын
Yeah, I was wondering if the pickle not being patted dry was a problem. I’ve watched someone else make this and have the same issue and he also didn’t pat the pickle dry.
@nicischmidt7572
@nicischmidt7572 17 күн бұрын
@alixaugustine9599 any extra moisture will cause the cheese not to adhere. With the tortillas sometimes I add a little butter to my pan for the second side, but that's just because I like the flavour and only have cheese on one side. Also, if you've never had flour tortilla chips, you've got to fry one up crispy and dip it in your favourite guacamole or salsa

Our corn pops here in Canada are round balls. I remember as a kid there used to be perforations on the flat side of those small cereal boxes and you took a knife and cut along the perforations to make like two doors opening from the centre. The carbonara ramen, I learned pretty quick, tastes better if I just use about half the fire sauce, then just throw in a splash of cream, some shredded mozza, a generous quantity of bacon bits, and some vegetable of some variety, and then the taste turns into more than just "spicy and vaguely creamy". Frozen peas work very well, also some mushrooms. It's very rich, but that makes it feel like a real treat.

I don't think the scrambled pancakes are a new invention, as we eat something very similar to it here in Slovenia. We call it "šmorn," or more officially "carski praženec." I'm sure our neighbors and other European countries are familiar with the dish! We usually top ours with either granulated or powdered sugar, and we fry the batter for a bit longer so it becomes crispy. Delish! A perfect meal, especially when there's little to find in the fridge.

Once frozen, I peel them off and fill labeled Ziplock bags. These are convenient for pizza, sandwiches, etc. For sandwiches and burgers, I would only partially thaw. There's a clip of him hitting two cakes of hardtack together and it makes the same noise. Since that clip aired, hitting things like that has become a thing. Sometimes fans will insert the vide clip from that episode into their video as well. Its quite silly and fun. :)

The frozen tomato ice toast was intriguing as I’ve been eating cottage cheese toast with slivered fresh tomato for years! Yes lots of salt and pepper but recently I’ve been topping it with everything bagel seasoning delicious!

I loved the shout out to Kenny! I miss the OG Shopsin’s!! Gotta love Emmy’s videos, the natural way she talks to us just feels like company. I’ve been watching her since she was in Japan. She was one of the first people I subscribed to. I just adore her.

My grandma lived in another state, so I only got to see her a few times a year. She kept the mini boxes of cereal in her pantry for all of the grandkids. Those are so nostalgic for me 💗

I used to use a cookie sheet covered with foil and sprayed w/PAM then cover it with fresh grated cheese. (I think it melts better and has a creamier tastes than bagged grated cheese.) Place in the oven on broil and watch it closely to get bubbly and a little crispy looking. Let it cool almost completely and use it for chips in salsa. I’m thinking if you used this method you could then cut or tear it into pieces large enough to cover your pickle. I think Clausen Kosher Mini dills are less salty and would work better than that huge pickle spear you were using. I love cheese and pickles but I’m picky about both. 🥰🥰🥰

My new favorite snack is the “frickle “ Try it this way.. I used the Italian creamy melt mozzarella cheese, already shredded. Use what you prefer. I also used bread and butter pickle chips.. omg so good!! I put about 5-6 dollops of cheese until it melts then I roll up a pickle chip.. I like my cheese super crispy so I let it sit for a few more seconds.. so good!!

I am somewhat validated by the chickle. As a kid, my after school snack would be wrapping a Kraft Single around a pickle.

One of my favorite things instead of cream is to add ranch to the spicy buldak to cut the heat, also definitely add cheese. After I lost my gallbladder, my body doesn't tolerate really spicy foods, so it helps a ton.

When i was little the mini cereal boxes were perforated in an I shape on the front so you could cut the box and make a "dish" and eat the cereal right out of the little box.

18:22 you've unwittingly performed a warning call for birds! draw out three slightly longer pshhh pshhh pshhh sounds and you'll be spot-on for a "I see a predator, hide" sound. don't make it outside unless you want to scare the heck out of some catbirds 😂

Definitely going to try the scrambled pancakes and I'm working on the courage to try Tanghulu. My littlest loves strawberries but melting sugar is very intimidating.

have you tried the cream carbonara flavor? that's my favorite. I add black pepper, green onions, a poached egg and a little parmesan. all the buldak noodles have a tiny bit of curry in them, so that's maybe why it reminds you of butter chicken.

On the Chickle: It would probably work better with Sweet Gherkins or Bread and Butter Pickles, that way you'd get a salty sweet combo.
