ik i’m late to this video, but for anyone who doesn’t have Photoshop (like me), there is still a way to generative fill backgrounds in After Effects. It should be just called “generative-fill layer” in the windows tab on the top. The way it works is it fills any space in the composition that is clear (i.e. there is no background/image there, etc.), so all you have to do is cut out the space you want to be filled in with generative fill, then solo the layer and press generate. (there is more to the process, so I would recommend watching a separate video to get the whole scoop) I would recommend importing the same image two times. On one cut out the objects you want to be interactive using the pen tool, and on the other use the generative fill to remove it from the image. Then follow the steps in the video :)

@MetalmcBiff3 жыл бұрын
Terrific explanation of projection mapping, and well executed! The shadow darkness and diffusion settings only affect cast shadows (as in, when an element lit by the spotlight casts a shadow onto another element. It doesn’t affect the falloff of the light itself. Looking forward to seeing what you make next!

2 small tips: 1- If you use the "Top" view, you would be able to make a perfect box by aligning the walls and floor without leaving any room for guess work. 2- If the image gets a bit blurry (It definitely will.), the best way to recover some definition is to - Go to "composition setting" - "3D renderer' - click the option button and change the "shadow map resolution" to 4000.

Did not work for me, double checked everything, made sure all the settings and positionings are correct, but when I turn Cast shadows "Only" for the image it just disappears and nothing projects onto the planes... As I said, I checked all the Settings on the solids and the image, the light and the camera is hard to get wrong. I don't know what to do about that...
