Ebdon use to come up to our club in Whetstone London and went to a boxing night out with him too once... Not sure why people hate him because he seems a proper giza and very quiet to be honest... Is it because he is a very slow player 🤔... Don't get that because Thorburn and Griffiths were very slow and no one hated them and there was a player called Mario Morro that not many have ever heard about... He was very slow too... Anyway... He is a world champion ffs... He achieved his goal in his sport and you cannot ask for anymore than that !!!!

A great loos to the game, when Peter retired. As Ronnie once said " that man has got some real stamina".
@johnp5152 жыл бұрын
Ronnie was being sarcastic. He was making the point that he could never play the super slow grinding game that Ebdon played.
@alangrygar85622 жыл бұрын
@@johnp515 which kinda sorta means it was effective style of play - in certain matchups at least. And you don't fluke your way to a snooker WC title. The real problem with his kind of game was being sooo unattractive and just overall agonizing to a viewer - and without the fans, you cannot be a pro player, there won't be a sport. However, I personally do think Peter might have quite a lot to give as a teacher to younger talents.

So much hate towards ebdon, I think people forget that this guy was a world champion. Despite playing slower than the crowds favourites you can’t takeaway how good this guy was.

I don’t see why some people should slate Peter ebdon. How he plays is his business. I think Peter is extremely talented. After all he was the world champion

One of the greatest players ever and I think he’s been the victim of some pretty awful bullying.
@richardbrennan72882 ай бұрын
I agree. I don't think half of the people have a clue what they're going on about. Peter was a wonderful example of how to squeeze every last bit of potential out of yourself. A lot of those bullies should look at their own life and see what they achieved. I'd understand if Peter was arrogant or cocky - I can mention a lot of names who are - but Peter is an absolute gentleman.

If you’re in the comments section before watching, be warned, this 8.47 video is only his first two shots. It’s only a bit o banter. Can honestly say he’s never bugged me. He gets a lot of stick for his game speed. Many ways to play a game, I just like good snooker. The longer it takes to play a frame, the more I get to sit on my jaxi watching, and do sweet f.a.

Well done and great win but I really feel ebdon started crying because he thought he was going to win a second world final because dott had beaten O'Sullivan and ebdon was crying because in his mind he was already a 2 time World champion but Dott beat fair and square.
@garethrichards95722 жыл бұрын
Then you don't know Peter Ebdon. The emotions involved after being 15-9 in front, only to be hauled back to 16 all, must have been overwhelming. That's why he cried. He was too good a pro to underestimate Dott.

@Wayne Anthony Holmes Is it always just a cheese pizza?
@garethrichards95722 жыл бұрын
@Wayne Anthony Holmes I kinda agree with you about the GOAT debate, and the lack of credible opponents compared with today, but I think calling Hendry a fraud is a little harsh. He was the greatest of all time in 1999, and could only play against the players available, but things have moved on since then. Hendry pulled the game out of the old style of play, and into the attacking game we see today. Over 770 centuries in an era when there was very few tournaments compared to today says a lot about his stature in the all time list. Remember, I'm not arguing with your point, I actually agree, but Hendry was no fraud.

It irritates the shit out of me, and the fact that there were people coughing in the crowd last year right after they re-introduced them after lockdowns and shit, I'm like are you fucking serious right now?
