This is really helpful and makes so much sense. I’ve started doing this on my own without knowing what it’s called.

Yes thank you very much an excellent explication of an EFT process. Does anyone have any references or suggestions as to where one can view this in a role play or demonstrate with an example.....much obliged

Hi There. Are you aware of the research by Sachse on deepening and flattening propositions ? What you describe sounds like the Focusing-Oriented therapy that I teach. Accept that you are being more analytical, where as in Focusing I ask people to sense into what it needs, ( so we are not trying to impose an intellectual structure on the experiential process but the intellectual structure emerges from the experiential process ). This feels like re-inventing Gendlin's Focusing and Experiential Psychotherapy which is good for a new audience !

In my case it looks to me a preverbal trauma, like I was not accepted, validated, or something wrong happened some loss happened and there is a lot of confusion around this loss and grief situation. I can guess my mother's post partem depression or loneliness lack of human contact during my infancy. That emotional imprint of loss, lack of joy, lack of welcoming into the world is feeling like a pain deep in my heart. If I feel this pain, that I am doing it since last 1 yr, welcome the pain, do breath work on the pain and then provide the love, compassion and welcoming needed for the infant...... will it resolve my emotional pain issue of last 30 yrs???

This sounds very similar to the CBT process of moving from negative automatic thoughts to deeper level core beliefs and the associated emotions
