I love how you notice (and appreciate) the small details, no matter the song… keep it up!

I first heard this song in the movie Almost Famous. Iconic.

I was very familiar with this song long before Almost Famous -- but, yeah, that scene was SO well-punctuated by the use of this song, and when I think of the movie, I always think of this song now!

Love this song, thanks for this reaction. I'm so glad you did the studio version. Elton had throat surgery in 1987 that changed his voice and made it hard to hit the high notes. So early Elton studio sounds different than earlier music he does in concert after 1987. Taupin/John was the Lennon/McCartney of their time. Check out "Levon" off that same album. Too many to really mention. Great reaction.

He is the original Piano Man. Beautifully done musically and lyrically. Elton is a true master. A legend! Great artist to react to Josh!🎼🎹

No, he's not. That would be James Booker, the Bayou Maharajah. Way more influential, an ACTUAL genius as opposed to just popular, and totally whitewashed over by history for being gay and black.

@@Stevies_Precog_Gym_n_Spa420 But of course! I was simply doing a light comparison to Billy Joel who in himself is another fine artist.

Elton John/Honky Cat

Elton John is one of the greatest musical artists of all time, despite some of the stuff he released in the 80s. I remember playing the shit out of this song on a portable cassette deck back in the summer of 1974 with my cousins when I was vacationing in Italy. Many more Elton John songs to freak out over: - Mona Lisas and Mad Hatters - Come Down in Time - Blues for Baby and Me - Levon - Honky Cat - Elderberry Wine - Captain Fantastic and the Brown Dirt Cowboy - Amoreena - Madman Across the Water - Someone Saved My Life Tonight - Daniel - Don't Let the Sun Go Down on Me - Love Song - Ticking - Rotten Peaches - Grey Seal - High Flying Bird - Candle in the Wind - The Bitch is Back - I've Seen That Movie Too - Curtains

This song have a very weird format and teases the hook

It's not that good. I understand this is an income stream for you but damn when anyone around your age sees this we get that you're bleeding these boomers with emotion porn and it's just weird. Weird. Weirder than a camgirl faking an O. Weirder than an evangelical preacher screeching about the lord to fund their private plane and new pool. Again, I get that you're doing this for $ but there are better hustles that 1. Maintain everyone's dignity in the exchange. 2 do not require deception. You're better than this.
